HACLA Is by far one of thee worst mananged governmental housing administrative programs I’ve dealth with. The advisors don’t return phone calls nor emails which are vital. Lord willing you get someone that has adequate knowledge because most of the time no one knows anything. I’ve gotten the run around and so much conflicting inaccurate info from staff and it’s rediculous. I’m tired of everyone blaming COVID for incompetence. They blame working remote as a reason for poor service. Working remote has nothing to do with your brain. You have a computer and a phone, same as you would have at work. It’s rediculous!!!

I caller many times waiting on the phone listening to music.. I even did the call back, never got a call back.. I'm on the phone as I'm writing this I been on the phone for 2HOURS GOING ON 3 HOURS. What is goin on with this place...

Let's first start by saying this place has its ups and downs. Yes, sometimes it's very hard getting in touch with someone, but when you finally do, they really help. My fiancé and I have been on Section 8 for almost 5 years now and they helped us not in one house, but 2! My fiancé suffered a stroke and they helped us move from one house that didn't have the room for all of her hospital equipment into a larger house that was more accommodating. Now they don't search for the new house, nor do they pay the deposit, but they help significantly with your rent based on your earnings. Is this place perfect, no! Are everyone who works here helpful? From what I have seen, yes! Thank you to Donna Navarro for helping us these last 4 and a half years!

Unprofessional, no customer service. Hard to get through, and when they do call back., Are clueless about your case, even though the entity number is provided. Who is over the Housing Authority?
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
I truly believe you there making it hard toget help
Good Morning Ashley. Thank you for inquiring the HACLA for housing assistance. Due to your currently situation, you may want to contact the Coordinated Entry System (CES). You call 211 for their number. As far as the frame, it varies. You may also go to our website at: www.hacla.org. for anyothe assistance in references. I hope this helps.
Hi alice p, Unfortunately, the conventional housing application process also known as a "housing projects" does not provide emergency. The housing placements is on base the application date.. The section 8 application wait list close. You may wanna try 211 or 311 these are phone numbers to the city and county of Los Angeles may better provide you with emergency housing...
Not necessarily, call and speak with you section 8 advisor
Hi from what I understand section 8 and public housing are not based on emergencies or situations they're based off application dates and preferences...ask the last case worker for assistance...
Your chances are going to be hard because there is a long waiting list, years sometimes
Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles is a housing authority that participates in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), and Public Housing programs. As of May 3rd, 2021, Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles has 1 waiting lists that are open now or opening soon. They open at 8am
Could be 1 day, week, month, years. Depends on how much you have left to do as far as paperwork.
Section 8 is subsidised rent for low income individuals and families. So, yes there is a limit to how much you earn in a year. And, how much your assets are worth; stocks, bonds, must money in the bank, gold, diamonds, etc.
To be very honest with you every time I've gone with or without an apartment I've just walked in but I have I have not been there in a while but but it's best to go early as possible and wait in line or just call up and ask I'm more about action by going there anyways I hope I helped in some way
Usually takes a couple months to a yr or 2
The walk in days are monday thru friday
I'm not an employee of the housing authority in a client. I do know that the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) only deals with Tennant/Landlord issues for HACLA Clients receiving Section 8 and other Federally funded housing assistance programs for qualified low income individuals and families. If you have an issue with your landlord and you are not receiving rental assistance, section 8 etc. you will have to find the proper LA City department that deals with the type of violation that may have occurred. The City, County and State government agencies might help you if your landlord has broken a law, unsafe/unhealthy conditions etc. and you should provide as much proof and documentation as you can get. If this is a money issue the city will only step in if you live in a qualified rent stabilized multi-family property. Call the city information line by dialing 211 or go to the the main website of the City of Los Angeles. Good luck sorry i couldn't be of more assistance
Unfortunately the housing authority does not provide emergency housing your best bet is to call 211 or 3 mode 1 and ask for emergency housing
Yes you can. Make sure to disclose it to your advisor.
Yes
Any real estate agent can get the information you need to do it 👍
Lilia Robles are you doing fine now ?
Unfortunately, The Housing Authority no longer provides listings.
If you are married to the person who has section 8, it is only to go see your social worker and put yourself in the contract carrying a marriage certificate and if any other identifications they guide you there greetings
I suggest you go into your nearest Office for housing authority and stand in line and show all your documentation that you have and bring your ID so only a suggestion and you should get your results just be willing and patient and open
As a suggestion call or go on line and the section eight will assit you.they should have all the different listings.
The rental agreement states the rules for the common areas. If anyone is violating the rules, you can speak with them individually or report them to the landlord or management company.
It depends on whether you are on General Relief or social security or Social Security disability they pay partial and you pay the other part about 30%
If you're still looking for an answer to this question, look up the tenant rights handbook by the local or county jurisdiction. It will give you the rent increase limitations.
Friday's at 1:30 pm no appointment needed at hacla
It took about eight months for me but that was in 2000, the beginning of the pandemic
Hello Camille. Our applicants do have a right to a review. The notice of denial/withdraw states the following: "You have the right to a review if you wish to dispute this action. To request a review please email [email protected] NO later than 30 days from the date of this letter." Please send an email to: [email protected].
Get in touch with your Section 8 worker. They will let know your rights
I'm only a tenant myself, but I do know that you can always request a hearing with the housing authority. I would do that immediately as well as immediately go to a legal aid or the Housing Rights Center for info. as well as guidance, etc. Good luck!!
Look if you have over a year living in OKC then you can move here I think your voucher would be the same depending on income
I suggest you go to PATH ,LAHASA ,OR ANY OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Refer to web site
The what ?
No it’s closed
Hi u visit Hacla.org find the waiting list numbers.
Honestly at this point instead of housing, I should be on section 8 for as long as they made me wait!!
Once you gain ownership contact the advisor and inform them of your intent
The client has to contact their worker. Unless you have power of attorney information regarding any cases will not be discussed.
Email the office...go on-line....and ask if your worker is around....
Hacla is still closed to the public. You can only, call, email or fax them.
Yes. You can only drop off.
Call or email your worker? They will send another.
Contact the customer service department and ask them if can see any updates or to send an email to the person in charge of your file. You have questions.
I would do that, send it to the address you were provided and wait for a response.
You should hear something within 2 months also email the person assisting you for updates the email is their first.lastname @hacla.org
In front of the entry door
Go to there website
Yes you can start the process.
Yed
You have to contact your case worker.. on your paperwork and your e-mails comunicacion between you and HACLA Worker has the phone number and office phone numbers
No
Yes they do. It's located right outside the main entrance.
Yes they are. I never could register on line. COVID-19 have everything messed up! They also have a drop box to put ur renewal in. 7 days a week. They have been closed. Good Luck
They are, i just got mine
Try having the health Department do a surprise inspection. If that doesn't work recorded and show your case worker or contact the news.
Just go to the new place fill up application and when accepting do the same thing u did with ur 1st place
Right now because of this it is quite hard since thier offices are closed. However you can apply on thier website just look up HACLA and once your done you will be put on a waiting list. If you are not a full time student , over 62, or have a disibility expect to wait for many years though.
Yes just contact your Advisor
In my experience, their delay is based on the amount of applications and the availability of funds, depending on your priority level with them, it could take from 1 to 10 years, but once you get it they really help you out
Go to HACLA.org
Not for the city of los Angeles as far as I know, other cities have their own independent offices
Some housing authorities have a program called HIP or homeless incentive program. If you qualify for that program then you may qualify for assistance with your deposit.
Las Vegas is where I transferred and it is the best thing I ever did! LA sucks and everything about Las Vegas is better 😊 EVERYTHING 😉
The answer is when someone is paying daily and they have a cold number housing share code number it means that they have went to housing place like the courts and got subpoenaed for daily payment each day because it's even harder for them to get housing versus someone zero down like an older person or someone like myself that can buy wholesale when you look into real estate there are options that is in you know higher or lower bright and once you do those things you can also TD Ameritrade so when you find out your status that's like someone status you know
No
Try going to their office in person. They have 2 locations, go to the website to find out location and hours.hacla.org
It depends on the program
No. Street or pay private lot.
Yes of course, they're smarter than the people working there!
Yes but your mother must agree and work it out with HACLA. Or work with social security to be your own payee.
Go to a family shelter call 211
How can I apply for section 8. I'm disabled I have diabets and another condition.
Tuesday and Thursday
HACLA doesn't have a fax, you can just walk up to the counter and hand them your documents; make copies before because they will not make copies for you. Get a receipt for your documents. It doesn't take very long to do this!
HACLA may or not help you depending on the severity of the leaks. However, if the landlord refuses to do any repairs, LA Housing could site the owner for a code violation. If the leaks are substantial and it is found to be a code violation, the owner would be forced to make necessary repairs, or face very expensive fines. Go to Los Angeles Housing Department to speak with someone at code violations.
Go into the office and speak to a worker about your application!
Get police report. Let owner know u fear ur life. Contact Legal Aide. Free. Goodluck
Its 2 persons per room...max 4
Yes!
Call LA City 311 or LA County 211 to find Emergency Housing. They can get you connected to Homeless housing with LAHSA or Salvation Army. After you get off the street you can get help with getting permanent housing. HACLA is an option for Section 8.
They can apply with the application center which is conventional housing "housing projects" . They must show proof like DD 214, pass a criminal background check this will give them a preference not necessarily house them faster..they are welcome to come and go to window 2 for more answers.
you would need to contact your worker for additional information.
it depends on many things. you would have to contact the housing department HCIDLA to determine that.
Well then you have to go up to there office and see her or him in person and add her on but I'm not sure if adding your grand kids will make a difference
What is your worker or advisor's name? Try speaking with the supervisor. Or, go into the office and speak with them personally. Even if they're not able to see you, they can speak with you on the in office phone. Don't despair or give up. Good luck!
Yes, you are fine it takes about 6 months to process.
At this time only the Public Housing dept has applications available. You only need to bring a original social security card an valid I.D. or drivers license. You find more info on the website www.hacla.org. click Housing Programs, theb Public Housing.
If it's an "Eviction Notice", there is usually a time limit, such as 3 days from the date of the notice. If you haven't moved, the police will force you to leave. If it's a notice to "Pay or Quit", it's usually a seven day time limit. You have an option to file a response to the notice with the local court, to have the landlord explain why they want you to leave. Get the local Free Legal Aid Office to help you complete the documents necessary and submit them to the court. Call legal aid to assist you with the eviction. You have to act quickly!!! The Eviction is a court order, and the Notice to Pay or Quit, is a necessary part of the eviction process. Which, is why you must respond to the the court. Good luck!
You have to go to the city of Los Angeles to the permit department ...
What is rent care? If your landlord or management company has a website with rent payment ability, you just setup an account and pay rent. Be careful, you may have to pay a service charge.
Look it up on the website!
Yes, they started taking applications again this year.
If you are waiting for an interview...make sure they have a current address for you...but if are homeless and looking to get housed...the agency does not provide emergency housing
Ask Housing Authority
You would have to have conservatorship over him and that comes from the court soc sec does not recognize anything else you can check with a free legal clinic for advise and guidance there is one at my Church located at Morningside UCC 8722 Crenshaw Blvd Thomas Messreau Clinic 2nd & 4th Saturdays 11:00am
Yes, public housing agency, ask your case worker to do porting out
If they give you the correct notification all you would be due back is your original deposit they do not have to pay you to relocate if there going to live there only if there going to re rent
The letter will be off your standing it takes a while longer to get a voucher for a unit but always keep checking with them after you get the letter it will probably instruct you on the time you will get your appointment for orientation
I would get in touch with fair housing. And if your sisters apartment has mold bugs or non livable conditions contact the health department.
NO ONLY ONE VOUCHER PER UNIT
I am sorry to know that, then either you or somebody your representative come down to the office immediately. Look for the nearest office to your place. I truly believe the office is very helpful.
No he does not have to if he notified you in a timely manor
It depends, gotta check with your case worker in the office
Come down to office tomorrow make an appointment with a case worker. It's possible but you have to go through a process. Better not to delay
Well it's about following Direction developing or learning patience and just doing as once again being told by the Housing Authority it only benefits the individual is living in the unit God is great patience in my opinion is a learned behavior you can develop it
As a suggestion sir you have to be patient don't do not put a I suggest to not put out racial bias God bless you sir
No it will depend if the new owners what to keep renting to you your lease should still be good but you have to be given a 90 day notice if they want you to move. You should ask for contact of the be owners to discuss your situation and contact your housing authority advisor and make them aware of your situation and remember for any rental with section 8 you can be given a 90 day notice to vacate be your landlord with out a reason needed.
It depends on the year your building was built the law is different because it depends on the parking code for that year of the construction and if parking was a requirement at that time
Well that's a suggestion you would have to contact your section 8 worker or go find out who your worker is. Or just as another suggestion go to your nearest Section 8 on Wilshire and find out if you have an ID bring your ID something with your name and social on it if possible and they should be able to help you and see what your number is about your voucher
THE OWNER OF 31 UNIT HAS TURN OFF GAS FOR TWO WEEKS.THEN TURN ON THE GAS FOR HOT WATER.ALL 31 GAS RANGERS SHUT OFF 3 WEEKS NOW. WHY AM I PAYING FOR NON-RENTABLE UNIT
I suggest you go too the section 8 and talk too your worker or manager.
Tuesday and Thursday for tenants.
The Housing Authority has a Ombudsmen. Try them.
Income level is the only requirement. You can add your name to project based housing. The voucher program is closed unless your a vet.
No just Tuesdays and Thursdays
Honestly I suggest too seek free legal advise from LAcan in downtown La.
My name is,Ms. Loretta Hartfield . I am a Realtor. A 24 -48 hour notice is REQUIRED BY LAW to enter the tenant premises without tenant being present. Unless in case of Emergency.
Standard Lease agreements should come with a "pet clause". Basically, a paragraph describing the agreement between tenant and landlord regarding pets. If you don't see anything in your lease about pets, then contact The LA Housing Authority.
Yes, they can. If the building is under rent control they can raise your rent by 10% in a year. -i work for a section 8 property management company
Yes. Contact The Housing Authority.
What r u offering
i am under different circumstances. you "probably" qualify. best to go there and ask hacla.
Yes you can by all means.
No not until Monday don't forget on the 16th you got to put your own go online and do your application I think it starts at 10 in the morning until late at night
Walk in. Talk to someone. Perhaps another supervisor.
I think it's every 8 years
3 pct if you are in a rent control area
Yes because you have to sign a new lease with him. He can charge current market price for the new lease
They need 30 day notice if you have not lived there more than 1 yr. 60 day notice if you have lived there for more than 1 yr. 3pct max if you are in a rent controlled area, otherise i dont think there is a max limit
