They are a highly compassionate and involved community location. My cat and dog were spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped here. There are no concerns, and the pricing is really reasonable. We return frequently to show our support because this location does more than any other I've seen. They provide excellent work.

I had a great visit at the MSPCA. I went to see the cats. I try to go at least once a week. I had not been in so long because of Covid. It was quiet. Just the staff. They were friendly and helpful, asking me what type of Kitty I was looking for, and showed me how I could look for pertinent information on the cats. The cats are well fed and the cages are immaculate. I recommend this shelter.

We adopted our wonderful kitten Twix and brought her home November 30 2021, and she has been the biggest joy in our lives. Nevins Farm took great care of her, made sure she went home spayed and microchipped and ready for her forever home. She is doing well and healthy and we couldn’t be happier or more grateful! Their adoption process is also straightforward and fair! Would definitely recommend going here first if your looking to adopt! Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff at Nevins Farm for taking such great care of our baby and all the other animals in need you care for!

I adopted two kittens from the Metheun MSPCA on December 8 2021. The foster family who cared for them did such a wonderful job. Two weeks prior to the adoption they sent me pictures and gave me information about the kitten’s personalities. The foster parent sent me a laser mouse and 12 pack of kitten food along with a kind note about the arrival of the kittens. I’m so appreciative of this high level of fostering because the kittens are both very socially acclimated and happy. Thank you.

The animals they have changes continuously, I suggest calling or visiting. they also have their adoptable pets listed on their website.
Nevins farm is technically a kill shelter, but most likely not in the way you think. They would never kill pets for extra room or if they are less adoptable- they have a totally open door policy and will relocate or make space if needed, as well as care for the animals as long as they are alive and in their care. BUT they will euthanize animals that are so sick they are in terrible pain that cannot be cured (EX/ A Cockatiel that has terminal cancer and is continuously suffering) or an animal that is dangerous to the point on endangering people and themselves (EX/ A cow that was never socialized with a disposition to run up and gore anything that moves and doesn't respond to any training against it). A no kill shelter wouldn't do either of these things. This is the information I have gathered by learning about the association during their camp, though if you want to know more you should probably check this information with an actual staff member.
They have dental care there ask them for information of it
Yes they will take towel and blanket donations as long as they are not ripped up or smell of chemicals or a hazard in any way to the animals.
Yes, they MSPCA has a whole room for smaller animals
Yes they do it's a god place to take any animal there's a vet that does it
When is there going to be vaccination for dog again ? Response: In April maybe.
Call MSPCA, not sure what they have going on for kittens but its worth a phone call. My son had his dog neutered there for FREE
They accept it all. An need it too. They work miracles there. Truly my 4 month old pup would be in a lot of pain! With me feeling helpless! If they werent able to work with me
Hi, Christina! We are continuing to operate by appointments only for the time being in an effort to make keep safe our guests, staff and volunteers. With some pretty small adoption rooms and an average of 6,000 guests coming through on a monthly basis, it would be a significant risk to open to casual visitors right now. We can't wait for when we can do that safely, though, and look forward to having you come visit us then!
Hi Cheryl. We do have some options for low cost spay-neuter services in our clinic. You can learn more and see if you qualify on our website at www.mspca.org/spay.
Hi, Lisa! We have a grant funded low-cost spay/neuter program for cats, dogs, rabbits and potbelly pigs. You can learn more about it and apply online at www.mspca.org/spay. Many of our offerings for cats and dogs are limited to animals of residents in targeted communities (Lawrence, Lowell, Haverhill and Methuen), so if you happen to live outside of those communities, you can look at statewide spay/neuter resources at http://massanimalcoalition.org/resources/spay-neuter/spay-neuter-map/. If you have trouble finding what you need, please give our adoption center a call at (978) 687-7453 x 6101 and we'll gladly help identify a resource.
Sorry don't know about this but I am sure they would be as good as anywhere else
No sorry I don't but Nevins Farms has many for adoption.
Niko - please give our adoption center a call at (978) 687-7453 x 6101. They’re open tues - fri from 1-5 and weekends from 12-4.
Give them a call but I believe they don't have a vet there everyday of the week
I think yes
I did mj ne by app. They do them weekly
The MSPCA is open every day except Monday, so you should be good to check out some kitties then!
You should call them directly cause this is not the MSPCA. Ppl help here with answers to questions that ppl ask but it's not the place itself. You may get the right answers and you may not not. It's helpful if ppl truly do know but my best advice for you is to call them directly....enjoy your day.😊
You definitely can do that or even go on Facebook in the area you live in and give it away to ppl who may need these gifts. Ppl will pick it up if you ask them or you can bring it to them. I myself would go that route...mspca is good but depending where you are they're aren't the nicest ppl or place to bring animals or animal items. Hope this helps. Have a blessed day.🌞
I believe they need to live surrounding area
They have a website. Fill out the form online then wait a few days and contact them about it.
You also check out their website of the different dogs they have available.
Yes there are PET chickens here
Admission is free but donations are accepted. You can also take one of the dogs for a walk
Its buy appointment only
Just make an appointment
Go to their Website and it will direct you to who to contact, either a number of email. Explain your situation, I'm sure someone will get back to you. 🙏
Yes but not cloth pet carrier
Hi, Ann - I'm so sorry that you need to say goodbye to your cat. You can call our adoption center at (978) 687-7453 x 6101 to set up a time to come in, If you get voicemail, please leave them a short message and they will be sure to give you a call back. So sorry for your loss.
Hi, Terry! I'm not sure what your question is, but if you're looking for help with surrendering a cat to us the best place to get started (and where lots of questions can be answered) is at https://www.mspca.org/animal_care/surrender-information-methuen-mspca/. You can also give us a call (you might have to leave a message if you don't get them live) at (978) 687-7453 x 6101. Hope that helps!
You have to ask the shelter. You're asking people who have visited and reviewed it
Hi Paula. We are still operating by appointment only for adoptions, intakes, and all other services. Please watch our social media sites where we will announce any public hours for walk-through traffic.
Hi, Nayeli! You can explore our spay/neuter options (as well as other resources, too) and apply for our program online at www.mspca.org/spay
I don't think they have the bus..but they do have a spay/neuter program and for the low cost one it was only $75.00 with rabies vaccine and also a microchip included. All you do is bring your cat to the main entrance and you would need to call when you are there and then someone comes out to meet you at the door and take your cat.
I believe they do take pets. You just have to call and set up an appointment
Hi, Heather! We don't have a traditional public veterinary clinic, but if you are low-income you can access some of our reduced cost services through Angell at Essex and Angell at Nashoba. I'm including information on their programs here: https://www.mspca.org/angell_services/nashoba/ and https://www.mspca.org/angell_services/angell-at-essex/
Hello! You can view all of our adoptable animals online at https://www.mspca.org/adoption-search/.
Mspca Nevens in Methuen
Hi Cheryl. You can take a look at our available spay/neuter programs on our website at www.mspca.org/spay to see if you qualify. There is also a link for the application on the website.
Yes, I just had it done last week to my precious cat , they are amazing very compassionate to my lost and they contract with forget me not for cremation services which they are great also....😥
We do! You can search our available animals (including bunnies) at https://www.mspca.org/adoption-search/ :)
All I did there was give up a rabbit and had my cat spayed
We are at 400 Broadway in Methuen.
Hi, Ana! Please give our adoption center a call to discuss what you're looking for. They can be reached at (978) 687-7453 x 6101. Thanks!
Hi there! I would recommend calling our adoption center directly to speak with a staff member about our current available parakeets. They will be able to tell you more about the individual birds. Thanks for considering adoption!
Hi, Missy - Please call our adoption center at (978) 687-7453 x 6101 and they can help identify some resources for you. Hope your dog is feeling better soon!
Hi Jada. The adoption fee for rabbits is $85 for a single rabbit or $135 for a pair. This includes the spay or neuter surgery. You can learn more about the adoption process on our website at the link below. Thanks for thinking about adoption! https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/nevins-farm-adoption-center/how-to-adopt-nevins-farm/
I'm sorry I don't understand please repeat?
Donna - we can help you when you are ready. Please give our adoption center a call when you have a chance and they can help answer any questions that you have and talk with you about costs and options; though we will certainly help even if funds are tight. They can be reached at (978) 687-7453 x 6101; if you get voicemail, please leave a message and they'll call you back as soon as they can.
Hi Margie. Thanks for thinking about getting your kitten spayed! Thanks to special grants, we can offer low cost services to residents of Merrimack Valley. Check out the options and/or apply on our website at www.mspca.org/spay. At the bottom of that page there is a link to other programs if you are not in the Merrimack Valley area. Thanks again for getting her spayed!
Hi DaleAnne! We have a number of cats that may meet your criteria. Check out some of them on our website at the link below, or better yet, come in for a visit and speak to one of our volunteer matchmakers! We're open today 12-4 and would love to help you find companion! https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/nevins-farm-adoption-center/mspca-at-nevins-farm-adoptable-animals/
Hi Brian. We do. You can learn more about the surrender process on our website here: https://www.mspca.org/animal_care/surrender-information-methuen-mspca/
Hi Aaliyah. For our traditional volunteer program, you must be at least 16 years old, although we do have other opportunities for those under 16 through our humane education programs. Visit our website to learn more, at www.mspca.org/nevinsvolunteer. And thanks for wanting to help animals!
Maria - please call our adoption center to discuss. They can be reached at (978) 687-7453 x 6101.
Hi, David! The best thing to do would be to come in for a visit as our population changes daily. It looks like we do have 3 ragdolls on our adoption floor at this time that we're looking for special homes for; I believe these cats had pending adoptions that fell through when medical conditions were discovered. If you're looking for an older cat, we have a large number of great older cats (just not ragdolls) that would be wonderful candidates. A visit is the best first step, but you can also view a portion of our available animals online at mspca.org/nevins - and you can reach the adoption center directly with any specific questions about our animals at 978-687-7453 x 6101.
Sherry - please call our adoption center to discuss. They can be reached at (978) 687-7453 x 6101. We are closed to the public on Mondays and you might have to leave a message, but we will give you a prompt call back if your call is not answered live.
Angel mspca at the Nashoba school my be able to help they have programs for low income all kinds of stuff they helped us with I dog I am so thankful for them
Yes! Check out our volunteer opportunities at www.mspca.org/nevinsvolunteer.
It's an adoption fee not a purchase price. If you surrender your pet it's not a "return" though they may be willing to discuss the poor fit.
Hi, Naisha - please reach out to our adoption center to chat with them. They can be reached at 978-687-7453 x 6101. Thanks!
Absolutely take her to MSPCA at Nevins. Tell them what is happening - they will help you, especially if financial hardship. They have helped me numerous times. Best wishes!
Hi, Stephanie! You can see all of our available animals online at mspca.org/adoption-search/. Hope you have a new friend soon!
I as a visitor thought the volunteers very dedicated and showed their love for animals through their devotion and painstaking care. Of course it can be a job where if one is a little sqeamish one might find it difficult to see some sick and recuperating animals. But I think all in all it is in the end is a very rewarding experience.
Hi Billy. You can come in any time during our open hours (Tuesday-Friday 1-5 and Saturday - Sunday 12-4) although I would strongly recommend weekdays as the weekends are quite busy and there will be a significant wait time. We charge $10 for a nail trim, and if you wanted to leave an additional donation to help other animals, it is much appreciated!
Sorry I'm not much help here. We have adopted a dog and cat as well as volunteered in the barn for a while.
They do they take chickens thank you have a good afternoon and good luck does the Methuen just in case
I would call or bring to the mspca maybe they will help
You can check out our public spay/neuter programs at www.mspca.org/spay. If you don't see what you need, please call our adoption center to discuss at (978) 687-7453 x 6101.
I think so. But call them up!
Hi, Robin! That could mean a lot of things, the best thing to do would be to call us to chat about any particular cat's profile - or (even better) come in for a visit! The adoption center is open Tues - Fri from 1-5 and weekends from 12-4. They can be reached at (978) 687-7453 x 6101.
HI, Kristina! You can see some of our available animals at https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/nevins-farm-adoption-center/mspca-at-nevins-farm-adoptable-animals/. This is not a complete listing as our population changes daily; the best way to get to know our available animals is to come in for a visit! Kittens are adopted very quickly and generally come back from foster, get spayed/neuteted and go up for adoption on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Calling on a Tuesday to check in and see what kittens will becoming available is ideal. The adoption center can be reached at 978-687-7453 x 6101 and is open to the public Tues - Fri from 1-5 and weekends from 12-4.
Hi, Gilberto - We're very sorry for your dog's passing. If you have not already connected with our staff, please bring your dog to our adoption center tomorrow for help with cremation.
https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/nevins-farm-adoption-center/how-to-adopt-nevins-farm/
Hi, Mary! Best to contact our adoption center to inquire about what animals we have. Our kittens are generally adopted quickly, so the best odds of connecting with one would be mid-week when available littlers come back from foster and are spayed/neutered and then go up for adoption. Our adoption center staff can tell you when we expect our next litters and can be reached at (978) 687-7453 x 6101.
Hi, Sonia! We do not have veterinary services available for owned animals at Nevins Farm (outside of our public spay/neuter program). Our hospital is Angell Animal Medical Center in Jamaica Plain or you can check out Angell at Nashoba if you're receiving any sort of public assistance. If you have questions, please reach out to our adoption center staff to chat. They can be reached at (978) 687-7453 x 6101. Hope this is helpful!
Hi, Kathy - So sorry to hear that your pet needs to be euthanized. We do help with euthanasia services any time we are open (Tues - Fri from 1-5 and weekends from 12-4; though we are closed this Sunday). We ask for a donation of $150, if possible, to help cover the costs of drugs and general cremation. If you have further questions, please call our adoption center to discuss at (978) 687-7453 x 6101.
I'm not sure if they do but if you call them they will let you know
Hi, Terry - Reach out to Angell at Nasboba (https://www.mspca.org/angell_services/nashoba/) at 978-577-5992.
They should be able to work with you or offer a discounted fee. Don't let your pet suffer, bring her in and ask what they can do.
It is a NO kill shelter
Hi, Alex! You can check out and apply for our public spay/neuter programs online at www.mspca.org/spay. If you don’t see what you need there, you can give our adoption center a call for some direction at 978-687-7553 x 6101.
You need go to MSPCA and chek
Hi Hector. You can check out our volunteer program at www.mspca.org/nevinsvolunteer. All of the information is listed on that web page. Thanks for wanting to lend a hand!
Animals are not gifts.
Hours are 12-4 Tuesday through Friday. Bambinos need the mother for 8-12 months and then they can operate on her.
Hi, Nuntavan! We offer low-cost vaccinations to animals owned by the public twice yearly at Nevins Farm; you just missed our fall clinic which we held this past Sunday. If you would like a wellness check and vaccinations, our hospital (Angell Animal Medical Center) offers them on an ongoing basis in Boston. If you're looking for low-cost vaccinations only, I'd encourage you to also explore Petco or PetSmart. Hope that's helpful!
No sorry
Yes lots of them
Hi Debby. You can drop off any time from 8am-4pm in the barn. Thank you so much for thinking of us - much appreciated!
I can tell you that if you adopt a cat from them they will clip their nails for free. However I do not know if they extend the same offer to dogs.
Hi Deborah, Check out our low cost spay-neuter for pit bulls on our website at www.mspca.org/pitpals. Thanks for getting your pup neutered!
Gail, we are glad to do nail trims during our business hours, no appointment necessary. It's $10, or free if you adopted the animal from us.
Ty I will let uk
Its always like that! Every shelter dose that Methuen is a non-kill and gorgeous they truly take care of all animals no matter what! so they want the older cats adopted first! I do get it if your heart wants a cat adopt one that's not a kitten you'll save innocent cats that people move cant take with them and a lot are young still, and trained and are lovely they are cheaper but i don't think it should matter i hope this helps somewhat any other questions let me no Kristina
They will take pretty much any animals donations are encouraged
Zippy can be tracked if it has the tracking chip installed or a GPS tag on his collar.
You should just be able to call to make an appointment and pay when you get it done. They have a great deal. I think i heard they do the neutering and nail cliping and microchip for $50
Everybody wants a kitty so I would call them first to see what's available! GOOD luck . And happy 4th of July!!!!
Yes they provide vaccines for all dogs cats and necessary ones for farm animals. They will do pitbulls because they have pitbulls. I know some people are scared of pitties, but they aren't and just an fyi from a vet tech, we love them at our practice because they are so good.
Jai young, get her neutered, and she wont go through that, i have a male and i got him neutered
Call them, but animal control would take it
Looks like someone already gave prices, haven't adopted in a long time, I know they used to charge an "extra fee" if the dog/puppy hadn't been spayed & you could get it back or donate it, after pup was spayed, not sure if they still do that or if so, if that's included in the fee. Good luck. Hope you do decide to adopt
What hours are wrong?
Call them they usually have a orogram to helo the cost and low income
Trying to get ahold of them is hard they don't seem to return calls. Ur best bet is to go there and talk to them in person
It doesn't cost anything but sometimes they won't take animals for stupid reasons. It happened to me with 2 4 week old kittens I had found in a deep ditch next to their mother who wasn't alive any longer. You'd think they would do to the situation but they just couldn't they said and someone was surrendering a dog and they wouldn't take him either...think that it depends on the room money situation with them etc...i hope they do help you.❤
Plenty of different breeds and if not they can help you find the Maine Coon kitten rescue
They do it for free a lot of the time. They have days that they set up to fix the cats....( Neutered or spayed) I think they will be happy to fix the cat cause of the population of cats...but you'd get a better answer directly from them if you call. I think it's also pretty cheap to do as well. I think it's like 25$ with them as well. I hope this helps and you have a beautiful day.😊
Yes many
Don t know
You should call them
Older adoptable dogs are so great. My Scooter passed away 3 years ago and he was amazing. I just got myself a brand new puppy through a friend and he is A LOT of work, but worth it. Good luck in your search, hopefully you can find your forever fur baby.
I really dont think so.. You'll have to see yr own Vet...
There are alot of good people there.i am sure they will figure something out for you
I couldn't find anything on their websites about vaccinations for rabbits only stating that yearly vaccinations are not needed for them
Yes you need to make appointment but they are quick. If you are from Methuen Haverhill and the surrounding area then it's about $10 for it to get fixed, distemper shot, a chip inserted and I think 2 more things to get done all for the $10.00 Can't beat that price
The website lists the dates
Best to find that info on their website
Ok thanks.
Yes, but there could be a wait
They are open all week and if you ask you can walk a dog
Contact them to find out. I know of one volunteer who was so loyal and diligent that they hired her as an employee.
I've been trying to get it touch cuz I can't afford to go to the vet. He was a gift from one of my kids on my special needs van I used to work for.
I would suggest calling them and asking. Sorry about your animal!
I would suggest calling or visiting, the animals they have changes continuously.
I would suggest calling or visiting, the animals they have changes continuously.
I don't believe they offer that procedure since most cats in their adoption center are not declawed. If a cat is scratching your furniture, or behaving in ways undesirable, there are plenty other options. (Kitty caps/nail covers, motion sensored compressed air cans, calming water additives, etc)
No. They should be painfree be4 their released. Unless there r some complication.
There is no visiting/entrance fee. They have a small shop in the adoption center to buy things for common household pets (ex. Cat litter, dog toys, etc.) They also except monetary donations.
Hi Kalandra, on the Nevins Farm website there is a page with the costs and requirements for adoptions. "Puppy (6 months of age and under): $500* adoption fee Puppy (7 months to 1 year): $425** adoption fee Adult Dog (older than 1 year- 9 years): $350 adoption fee Senior Dog (9 years and older) $300 adoption fee" Please take into consideration there are elder dogs looking for loving homes, too. Age is just a number.
Up to $100 but the area of residency is vast. Thanks to special grants and the generous donations of individuals, the MSPCA at Nevins Farm is able to offer low-cost spay-neuter services for cats and kittens who live in designated communities, including Lawrence, Haverhill, Lowell, and Methuen. The spay-neuter package is $10, and includes, the spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, FVRCP (distemper)vaccination, microchip (a form of permanent identification) and a nail trim. An MSPCA representative will be in touch within a week after receiving your application to schedule an appointment. Remember, you will be required to provide proof of residency prior to booking an appointment.
Sorry do not work there. you can check their website it is usually up to date or you can call
