I lost my best friend to a pack of coyotes. The people here were so sympathetic and kind. I was so confused and hurt and didnt know which way to turn. The office lady and the officer who came to my house, were amazing. They were so kind.

One of the cleanest and well kept animal shelters I have EVER been to. Not only were the staff accommodating and super friendly, they’re also super experienced and have such a love for what they do. It makes sense why this establishment has been around for almost 100 years now! Go and give a sweet puppy a forever-home at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society! 🐶

Only care about the money. Recently I found 5 kittens who looked malnourished and dehydrated we gave them something to eat and water and since we live in san Gabriel we wanted to leave them in our local shelter they didn’t want to take them and told us to put them back where we found them even though there was no mother and it was 95 degrees outside. We told them the information and they decided to tell us that they couldn’t take them and after we told them their conditions they said it didn’t matter. I have been to this shelter before when I wanted to adopt a dog. DO NOT COME HERE there’s other shelters and humane societies that care more about pets and the well being of animals. And when we opened the office door it’s smelled nothing but marihuana so unprofessional.

This is definitely one of the nicer humane societies in the area. The people that work here seem to care about the animals and the people coming to adopt them They make everything very easy for the new pet owners and offer veterinarian services at a low cost. I've adopted from this facility a few times and have had good luck with all of them I would say be patient, expect some strong smells and loud noises, and of course don't forget to wash your hands before and after visiting. You can see some of the animals prior to visiting the facility by visiting their website

Take them to the Humane Society.
You'll probably have to call and ask.
Yes they do have animals that are taken by animal services, best bet is to show up in person since our little ones are just like family.
Usually yes, but getting to speak with one may require an appointment
Apparently yes. Need appointment for everything
Maybe
Hopefully you were able to and they found rhe owners
Try to call them at the number they have here. Perhaps they can send an officer to rescue them.
There's feral cats on the property and though the other neighbors feed them they sleep on our side. The landlord has 0/zero pet policy and now thinking that they're ours however few are friendly and those we're trying to get a hold of them to relocate them hopefully to good homes. The others just are too wild and smart for the humane animal traps. What's the procedure to get the cats to the shelter?
Call SPCA about this.
Here is the link to the available dogs that they have I hope I have made your search much easier. https://www.petfinder.com/search/dogs-for-adoption/?shelter_id%5B0%5D=CA605&sort%5B0%5D=available_longest
That's a negative they do not, I would suggest going on groupon for a discount and see the reviews.
Yes as a general rule, all of these institutions have a volunteer program. You have to be at least 16 years of age to be allowed to volunteer on your own. Otherwise, they will want you to come with a chaperone because they claim that it is a safety issue. I can assure you that volunteering at anyone of these institutions gives you a very strong sense of accomplishment and an inner peace that you cannot find anywhere else. I am a laundry volunteer at Pasadena Humane Society and I hope that god allows me to continue doing this for many years to come.
They might be able to make an exception if you explain to them at the reception desk that the others are working or out of state. I mean seriously, it would be quite unfair of them to deny you the opportunity to give this poor kitty a loving family and a forever home simply because the rest of your family members are unavailable at this time to come visit the shelter. Not even god would view such selfishness with favor.
If you are in San Gabriel, call the police department. They will contact humane society.
Im not sure you should probably call them directly or check the website. Good luck.
Call them at the number they have here to ask them if you can bring your baby to meet a cat. They might let you bring him. Good luck!
You can take him to any veterinary clinic close to your house to get check for a microchip if he doesn't have any collar with tags of identifications on him. But you would stil have to bring him to the shelter to issue his license and you would have to take him to the veterinarian and pay separately for his shots and if you want to sterilize him. They will not charge you anything if they just check to see if he has a microchip. Don't bring him to the shelter until you are absolutely positive that he doesn't have a microchip because they will make you leave him here for at least five business days to see if somebody else comes to claim him. If within those five days nobody comes to claim him he will be put up for adoption and if alot of people are interested in taking him the person who pays more money will be allowed to take him and you might lose the opportunity to do so forever. You will need to spend around $200 for the shots surgery, license and microchip.
Open to the public till 4:30 pm
Yes I think is $30.00 per shot!
Go in and let them know you wish to volunteer. They will get your info and reach out to you for an orientation.
You might have to take your kitty to the veterinarian on your own because they only cure the animals they have on the facility. I am sorry I wish I could give you a better answer.
I think they charge around $20 for each shot but to be sure call them at the number they have here, go over there personally and ask someone from the reception desk or check their website for more information. Don't forget to ask them if they have a low cost vaccination clinic like they sometimes do at LA animal services. Good luck!
She has to come take a tour of the kennel area and when she finds the dogs she wants to adopt she has to write down the animal ID number, take a picture of him/her or a video if possible. Then she has to take this information to the reception desk, fill out all the paperwork, pay the adoption fee which is around $122 and when he/she is sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated and licensed he/she will be allowed to go home with your mom forever. I sincerely hope that she finds the baby of her dreams very soon. Good luck to her.
Yes as long as they are not expired. Thank you for helping those in need. God will bless you for it.
If you live within the city they only allow you to have three registered dogs per household. But if you live in a ranch I heard that they let you have as many as you like as long as you treat them humanely and take care of all their needs.
I am not sure what your question is but call them at the number they have here to be sure.
I believe so because these places have all sorts of pets. But go over there in person to be sure. Or visit anyone of LA animal services six shelters because they usually have some birds for adoption. Good luck!
Although not stated on the website, it would be best to call ahead to avoid any delays.
They are not currently doing the spay and nueter clinic due to covid. All info is on their website
You can view the animals by appointment only
You got the wrong person
I know you can drop them off but you gotta first. Pick up I'm not sure. I think it depends where they are found. City wise
Hello Denise, I don't know if they are hiring or their age requirement. Here is the phone number 626/286-1159 because of Covid you may have to call and leave a message asking them to please contact you about employment. Best of Luck Denise❣️
Your best bet is to call and speak to someone in the office
Yes $120- $150
They will try to find a foster home for the dog.
You can call and ask. Call San Gabriel police and they will direct your call to the humane society. Standard procedure.
I am not sure to tell you the truth. But I suggest that you go take a tour of the kennel area and when you find him or any other dog that interests you write down the animal ID number, take a picture of him or a video if you can. Take this information to the reception desk, pay the adoption fee and fill out the paperwork. When he is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and licensed they will let you take him home with you.
Yes, thank you Sorry for your loss.
If she's weaned definitely take her in, but make sure you say you found her in San Gabriel and/or have San Gabriel address on ID
Come and see for yourself!
Check with Animal Control
Take him or her to a shelter. Make sure it is a no kill shelter so they find your dog a good home. Be sure to donate whatever you can that comes with the dog. Food, brush, shampoo, toys, and doggie bed or blanket The shelter will appreciate it and it will help your dog feel more comfortable to have his or her favorite toy and own bed.You may have to pay a small fee so be aware. It's not much . Good Luck.
Until they get adopted. They have had some which were there for over a year. But they can only take as many animals as there is room for
You would have to pay around $30 to surrender him and give them a pretty good excuse for just getting rid of him without and iota of mercy! Are you dead serious?! You are getting rid of your poor dog simply because you don't want to pay a cent for his vaccinations?! You are absolutely, positively despicable! A dog is a family member not an old clock that you can simply throw in the dumpster because it is broken and you don't want to pay a penny to repair it or because you have just purchased a more modern one from amazon! Beware because tomorrow you can be the helpless one and others will donate you to a nursing home because you have become a nuisance! Not even god likes your cruelty! What goes around comes around! Never forget it!
If he has a collar it is best to bring him here because that may be a sign that he belongs to someone and they might be looking for him.
There will be a charge. I think it's $100 to surrender the cat. I had to do this for my elderly mother. *This shelter is a bit harsh though. You will forever be in their system as a person whom adopted and surrendered the animal. I wouldn't be surprised if they do not allow you to adopt any time soon
Yes but be ready to pay them a surrendering fee and to give them a plausible excuse for not wanting to care for them anymore! You see, a pet is a family member with thoughts and feelings just as the rest of us are not and old purse that you can simply return to good will or throw away because you have purchased a more modern one at macys! Tomorrow you can be the helpless one and others will just throw you in a nursing home because they will view you as a burden! Not even god approves of your selfishness!
Think of it this way.. Dogs are free, but the taxes aren't.. Adoption fees help support the facility for the process.. And so forth.. Look online for free adoption tips and sources
You might have to come to this location in person and take a tour of the kennel area or better yet, enlist the help of the people who work here to help you find them. Take a picture of them with you if possible to make the search a little easier.
You would have to pay around $130 for the surgery plus $20 for the antibiotic and pain medication, as well as $20 for the Elizabethan collar so that she doesn't inadvertently reopen the wound in her effort to try to deal with the excruciating pain. As far as I know, they charge you for this surgery according to your dog's weight. They charged us $130 to spay our French poodel in 2016 and those $40 additionally for the collar, antibiotic and pain medication. But we went to north central animal shelter and took a DWP bill and an ID to request a voucher and they gave it to us. Maybe you can do the same thing here.
Picked up for what? They don't "pick up" owner surrenders. Really, you want to do that to your old dog? Is he dying? Are you unable to care or euthanize? County will pick up and he will have a sad, caged end of life if thats what you want.
The charge you for putting them in their shelter. If u can afford it I would definitely put them there it is a no kill shelter.
Call, see availability and price. I personally go to hacienda animal clinic. The price is fair, and the staff and vet are very understanding. They have options for keeping the ashes and stuff too. Sorry, I know losing a beloved member of the family is hard, but you're more than likely doing this for them not to suffer. Best wishes
I have never heard such a thing. The only thing I have heard is that they want to shut down puppy mills because whoever is in charge of running these facilities exudes too much cruelty. For instance they keep the mothers in very small crates on top of each other and when they pee they wet one anothers' faces, they keep them inside the crates all the time with no food or water, and they don't give them a chance to have any contact with the outside world to name only a few. That is why the government wants the public at large to adopt from shelters or take in strays whenever possible so that the puppy mills can eventually go out of business and in this way they can do away with so much animal cruelty.
