From what I see, this department has done more to reach out to the community than any other municipal police department in the area. Their free citizen police academy is very eye-opening and educational, and they’ve done so much to reach out to the immigrant and mandarin-speaking community as well (thanks to the efforts of reserve officers Richard and Jack). This class goes above and beyond in my opinion, giving you hands on experience in various training scenarios like building searches, traffic stops, and firearms training. I feel a billion times more confident in SGPD after this program and much more appreciative of what they do. I highly recommend you go through the academy if you live in San Gabriel or seeing if your local police department has a similar opportunity.

I've lived in San Gabriel for 51 years. I want the community to know that this department has always been professional...supportive..respectful..helpful..commpassionate to our children, elder and social issues in our city. Anytime we have needed this department, they have helped us in a quick and professional matter. Thank You for beimg their for us...San Gabriel Police Department

San Gabriel police are robbers! Get out of traffic! Now the police car replaced SUV, should be from the people's traffic ticket to get it? So this city is not a good place for life and business investment!Here is the worst evaluation of this police officer!

well first of all when a person calls you usually get a person that dont say nothing when you say hi how u doing .awkward.also i had my car hit and run parked infront my house and lady took off lucky us my neighbors saw it all.i reported it and had the liscence plate of person.then i spoke to a detective that said he will look into it well that was over 4 months ago not a call back or nothing i dont need to report to my insurace.it wasnt that bad but i bet the person alredy fixed there car.i think that the servants of the people.are really not for our best interest. all i want is justice to be served .i know that its a asian town now but i hope that the detective wasnt being byist.....................cause i am latino.and the hit and run lady was asain.so idk im thinking of going down to the station tommorow......i aint a person thats hates anyone or judges anyone but the detective didnt seem concerned maybe a new detective to take over case. i respect all law enforcement and understand them .but do they respect us.....idk sometimes
