If you are able to go to another SSA, don’t come here!! I took everything I need but was still told I cannot process. I took exactly the same paperwork to another SSA, then success.

A very rude and inconsiderate young man was inside the waiting area while i was there. He was playing music on his phone's speaker as loud as it could go. He was not cooperating at all with the security guard. The security guard was very professional and had to escort him from the building. Good job!
The one you know
I went there today because they were supposed to be open to the public. The security guard told me lie after lie, tried to take my paperwork, doesn't seem to know anything about social security, and just shut the door in my face. Just so he, and everyone, is aware: yes you can now make an appointment to get a new card if you changed your name. How am I supposed to get a new card when you want original documents of my ID? Am I supposed to just drive around for a week without my license and trust you'll mail it back? Just let me make an appointment.

Goodluck getting through on the phone, I waited an hour just to be disconnected and the many calls I made after that were also disconnected and or the line went silent (put to the end of the line) after already waiting 10/15+ minutes.. and they have the doors locked STILL.. (of course Covid) so no point trying to go in person, because you have to make an appointment, through the phone line they don't answer.. you would think since they have no one in line at the office that they could at least answer their phones... Oh, and don't bother sending in your ID card for a replacement SS card for your child, they will send your ID back and still refuse to send the replacement ss card. I sincerely hope you have better luck.

State ID card or driver's license
You don't get your ID here.
You can start collecting SSB early retirement at 62. Of course there's a reduction on the benefit. 70 is when you can get the maximum benefit. SSA link: https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-01897
you go to a social security office and print a new one, some ofgices do some dont.
I would like an answer to the question of transferring the S.S. check from one bank to another. Do I call the Salem branch?
Need to change my address for Social Security
No, you pay out of pocket but W4 or 22(?) will help deduct. Irs will not get tax deduction report from ssa, u pay double then wait 9-14 months for computer system to catch up and correct itself.
You need to contact WIN ( work incentives network) or another provider that can do a benefit analysis for you. You can also talk to your case manager or vocational rehabilitation counselor and tell them you want benefits counseling. I was a WIC for a few years.
I need to change my account number at the Credit Union where my direct deposit social security check is currently going.
CONTACT SOCIAL SECURITY ITSELF AND ASK
Yes! Everybody can do something if they want to! You need to contact WIN ( work incentives network) or another provider that can do a benefit analysis for you. You can also talk to your case manager or vocational rehabilitation counselor and tell them you want benefits counseling. I was a WIC for a few years.
You should be able to online. You can always try it that way and if it doesn't work, then go in.
No
You should.
County courthouse then dmv then ss office.
Credit card to live on for a year... Then youll be ok.
Nope. 45-90 days is the fastest.
No
You will need to call Social Security and make an appointment. It can be over the phone or in office. Call your local office to make your appointment..
You can do that by calling the 800 number for SS. Easily done...
Yes
You have to deal with the security guard at the front door he will help with what ever paper work you may need or evaluate if you need to speak to someone but you can't just walk in to the office
Hi this is nziyunvira Joshua
I would go to the office and soak to the security guard. I was there this week, he was the only one I saw in the building. I know you can DROP OFF paperwork there but you can't make copies or anything like that. He said also they're having a hard time because when people are dropping off paperwork people aren't writing their case # or social security #, so the workers aren't able to find them in the system.
I had better luck with the federal phone number. Basically you just have to keep trying with the local office. It disconnects when it's very busy. So frustrating!
You have to call the local SSA office to set-up an appointment for your SSN application
You won't get in without one.
No. You must have an appointment and some services are limited to the online website.
Because of COVID, you have to call and make an appointment with them first. No walks ins.
Appointment only, and they will not make an appointment for getting a replacement social security card
I heard there might be a government shutdown again
Eileen, I would say, eventhough it is a pain in the arse to wait on hold for possibly hours, you do need to call and set up appointment. With covid crashing economies worldwide, people are scamming at an all time high. You need to get the issue corrected I there even is one in reality. Because, if by chance someone is using your number, this can mess up your credit line, your banking info and accounts, they can start changing your passwords so you will be blocked from your own accounts. My advice, talk to a person at SSD ASAP. God bless and keep you and yours.
No,sorry
Yes. Just had recent mishap for lady i give rides to. Pretty much every government agency is like that atm.
You might call them and ask them but you have to call early in the morning so your not on hold for a long time
It is free
Don't think so
No they are mailed and you will recieve them within 2 weeks after you leave the office.
To the same social security office you visited. They should have given a self stamped envelope to return it in.
Calling them is nearly impossible. I would just go down there with a death certificate. They are usually pretty fast to call your number when you are there.
Is this a question? You need to call your employer their the ones that sends you the W-2 forms.
Yes, I believe they will.
You may not because he is an adult. The wait is not long first thing in the morning and you can take a a number like at DMV then they can answer all questions.
No. From the date you filed the paperwork.
Yes. My mom was doing that.
Make the call!
Just go in and get a number set until your number called and give it to them . Don't call the 800 # cause they will never get it
You can just come in and no you don't get it same day. It takes 3 or 4 weeks
Its faster tg in to SSI office.
The easiest is to go to the office. That way you can ask questions and have the staff explain what's needed. Caution Salem has an average wait time of 2 hours. If you plan for that it is not difficult. Trying to call may not resolve the issue and generally has a longer wait time.
Yes, asking is best. What I have heard is, when you get Disability you are paid at your full retirement rate. When you get to your full retirement age (usually 66) they change you from the Disability program to regular retirement. There is no change in your check just which Social Security program you are paid from.
It may take quite a while on the phone but yes you can.
States identification and birth certificate
You can go there as a walk & just sign in as no appointment , then hit other. You will take the number & just set down. When they call your number go where they tell you. Note : if you are still there when they lock the door as long as you have a # you will still be seen. I hope you do this, they are closed on Wensday's
Mission to 25th, turn south to the first stop light. Turn right on McGilchrist. When you get to the Vetrans Admin, you are there. SSA is in the same building.
United States Postal Service to report an address change then wait for the mail to come from them then take that letter to the Social Security office in person. Meanwhile, they take 45-60 days to process... Good luck.
You can go online or go to the office and take your turn.
I haven't seen anything there except "first come first served."
Get the account routing letter from your bank and bring it in person at SS office, wait 2-3 months to take effect.
They wouldn't just call they would send a letter.
You can getonline and see all requirements. If she under 18 you will have to go in with birth certificate and your ID. If she older you might be able to do online depending on state. Just make sure you go to right website. Www.ssa.gov.com
www.ssa.gov
Yes
No.

No
They increased to 72.
You'll probably get denied the first three times. Usually everyone does. Just keep trying and make sure to include all the information.
No. Make appt by 800# or in person, but you can have phone appt by request. No online appt option yet.
You can go in or call to schedule an appt. Takes around an hour to get through on phone, office can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours
Only if he's able to prove with doctors notes and start the disability paperwork
They can withhold it to repay the overpayment. Usually they take out 10 percent for repayment, you can get a form for a waiver to get the payment decreased.
Birth certificate, ID. If you go in office, you can fill out form w only your ID.
Yes.
May be different since she was born in China, but usually all you need is ID. But You should bring her birth certificate, Her citizenship proof, maybe marriage license.
Contact them by phone. I don't know.
Sorry, I don't know...the local office doesn't even have a direct number to reach them, its just the national number but seeing how difficult they make things you probably have to go there.
Go in person and ask them.
You need to contact WIN ( work incentives network) or another provider that can do a benefit analysis for you. You can also talk to your case manager or vocational rehabilitation counselor and tell them you want benefits counseling. I was a WIC for a few years.
Can i make an appt for same or next day
No
you have to go in or call them you can't do it online
you have a payee so you have to go into the office and they need to deem you fit to control your finances and make you your own payee. talk to whoever gives you your money
