You might be able to complete an online form to request the new card. Since they only accept original forms of documented proof, like a birth certificate etc; you're still required to mail those to them. However, once they've finished with the documents they'll mail them back to you. I found it much easier to just take everything into the main office with me. That way if something wasn't correct, i could fix it right there and not worry about getting it back in my mail with a letter telling me to fix it and send it all back into them. I found the best time to go into the SSI office to be an hour before they close and lock the doors. It just seems to go faster, Best wishes to you.
