Do I have to make an apt to get a new card or can I just show up to the office and do it right then and there? I'm not local so we would have to travel to get to an office. Also do you get your card right then?

You can just come in and no you don't get it same day. It takes 3 or 4 weeks

I think you can just show up and get it done. But get there early, their will be a line...bring birth certificate and other identification. ..
