Next time any issues comes up, have your sister call 2-1-1. It can only be used once a year to pay rent. It will usually be paid close to the end of the month, and the case manager informs the office that they'll be assisting with rent. This keeps an eviction notice from being served, as 2-1-1 is pretty reliable when a case is given to a case manager. Your sister can call before the first, but they won't officially step in until the late notice is given. If she informs the office in advance, they should understand. They'll still be getting paid in the end. There are also homeless prevention programs available - some pay one month rent along with partial rent for a few months afterwards. That being said, she needs to show a reason why she can't pay. They need to know that this is a quick fix, not a forever thing. That's right until the 5th of the month , 50.00 after the 5th and you have to pay it all including late fees.
They give you until the 5th then after that 50.00 late fee
