They are indeed very lax on what they require from adopters. I believe it is just identification, you may or may not have to fill out an application form and the fee is $40. I've also volunteered there and this is to Jessica, the dogs are as well taken care of as they can be and they're never intentionally mistreated. There is overcrowding but the SPCA serves an amazing purpose by accepting any dog, they rescue strays and they take owner surrenders. They also asked questions of the owners that are surrendering to find out why they're surrendering in case they can do anything to help like if you can't afford vet care or dog food then they put you together with resources.

Nothing show ID and pay the fee it ranges sometimes they have big dog 5 dollar adoption day. I adopted my dog from there and I saved his life they are so mistreated there 😢 anyway you can call.down there and they can give you an accurate price for this month.
