The ER response time is deplorable. Waiting over 6 hours is not a response to an emergency!

As a teen patient I can say this place is amazing and takes amazing care of their patients. The nurses are extremely nice and helpful and they're amazing at what they do! As someone with an extreme fear of hospitals and doctors, I was completely calm the entire time I was there and felt really safe. They'll explain any type of process for your treatment if you want them to and they encourage you to ask questions. They don't just hurry up what they're doing and get out, they take their time to do things right and they actually take interest in their patients and learning about what they like to do and you can engage in conversation with them which was really cool. If I was told I had to go back again, I wouldn't be anxious or upset.

We have moved our care for EOE to Cincinatti Children’s from other locations in Texas. Our son has greatly benefited from the amazing care and multi-disciplinary support but with over 4 scopes we’ve never seen a pre-authorization obtained appropriately and spend months cleaning up with insurance due to Cincinatti ignoring the need to do this each time. I’d like someone to contact us and confirm how this will be avoided in the future.

If I could give this children a lower grade then a one star I would, this is by far the worst children hospital I’ve been to, the initial sign in and pull to the back is a quick process for the er but after whoa baby hope you have a pillow and dinner and your phone charger because you’ll be there for a longgggggggggggg time. The wait is ridiculous and down right outrageous for an emergency room. My second and last time

Absolutely, and a fantastic pastoral care department that will provide support.
Cincinnati Children's is a great hospital for kids. At 18, your brother may be at an age that might make it better to look at adult facilities to seek treatment. If your are wanting an adult provider, the Cleveland Clinic would be an excellent choice.
Hi Dawn - It varies based on the patient's diagnosis and the specialties needed. Please reach out directly to the specialty for a specific answer. -Kate at Cincinnati Children's
The Teen Center at Children's Base on Burnet Avenue treats people who are transgender. However I'm not sure if they can help those 21 and over. Call and ask for Teen Center.
I'm not sure of costs but I do know that they have many program and grants that can help cover costs. Please try to contact them to see how they can help. Prayers for you and your family 🙏
You can buy a meal card for $6 that has a bunch of food. You can buy them in the cafe and then you won’t have to leave your child’s room to get food.
At this time I doubt it. Due to COVID-19.
That is something that can be addressed by either a primary care physician or a neurologist.
Most of the buildings have parking onsite. If it is on main campus.l, there is a large visitor lot off of Burnet which has elevator access to all the different buildings. Just park near the elevator you're looking for
Yes
Greater Cincinnati Northern KY (CVG) is the closest airport. Columbus, OH (CMH) and Louisville, KY (SDF) also have international airports, although they're smaller and further in distance. CVG is only about 30 minutes from CCHMC.
Not sure about of of state. The people at the check in desk can tell you or there is a live chat on their website where you can ask
Contact Patient Services to be sure they will accept. There are some requirements you will need to follow.
Not sure can can call the resource center and ask
Honestly a PCP would be the first place. They can recommend or direct you to a practitioner that can help with that. I concur with the other person that suggested PCP (Primary Care Physician)
Your main pedestrian and they will refer you to where you need to go.
It depends on what they are coming for. Some departments stop seeing patients when they are 18, while others go well into their 20s.
You'd need to call & talk to either patient relations or the billing office or maybe whatever specialist you're referred to to facilitate this
I'm not sure if you call you can find out
No
I would just call them and ask. They are amazing with working with parents. Good luck.
I don't know you would have to call down there and ask them they would give you the right department
Contact concierge department by calling Children's main number. The operator can connect you
Masks are still required for all patients and employees. They will provide you one when you enter
Ashlynn thank you very much. I'm going to call and ask them. Dealing with a psychological issue and my daughter is inpatient
If anyone can, I would think so.I am guessing neurology. Take videos on your phone to take to your appointment with you. That is a great help to the doctor. Good luck.
Yes
Hi William - There are several hotels in the area. This is information our Concierge Services team has put together to help traveling families: https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/patients/resources/services/concierge-services/lodging
Yes, it is
You can also check out their visitor policy here: https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/news/release/2015/new-visitor-policy-12-07-15
Many times we see results posted on MyChart in a matter of minutes or hours. Depends on the tests and whether the orders are written so that they can be posted before your doctor reviews then with you.
They would most likely transfer the baby to Cincinnati Children's Hospital
Call the department you need and schedule an appointment. Do your research on the hospital and the surgeon...this is your child's health... don't be afraid to speak up and out for her. Go wherever you feel most comfortable...a Doctors feelings are of no consequence...
According to Google Translate it seems you're asking about a cure for diabetes. There is no cure for Type 1, or adolescent, diabetes. I have friends with it and it's something you have to manage. CCHMC has helped my friends a lot with teaching the family and child what to do and not so.
Security for sure to access patient floors and all visitors must be approved. All rooms should have a convertible "couch" that allows parents to stay in the room, if necessary.
Park in a and take the elevator up. If you're anywhere in the hospital you can take an elevator to floor one and follow the overhead signs to the orange a
They have the Ronald McDonald House next door if you want to stay close by.
yes they do
Because it's a teaching hospital, Children's has many clinics and other resources to help. Check out their website or you can always call. We've had to call them a lot lately and the operators always seem to know who we need to talk to for specific things. Good luck and hope your child is better soon
Yes. Go online and they'll pass them around on Valentine's Day
It's really simple, all you have to do is go the Cincinnati children's hospital website and if you scroll down a little bit there's a link that you can click to send a valentine's day card
Yes, CCHMC has a Nephrology department. The hospital has people from all over come for treatments. They have a great Ronald McDonald house right next to the main hospital campus. The hospital is great with coordinating visits between departments, as well, to maximize efficiency when you're there. Here is a link to the Nephrology department: https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/service/n/nephrology-hypertension. Good luck!
Sometimes there is bigger emergencies that come through. Depends on the situation. Sorry you have waited so long
Thank you I will have to call and talk to someone in the am
Level 1 https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/service/t/trauma/programs
Just parents
As above stated there are So many children who come from all over to see specialist here.. It's hard to get everyone is quickly especially if you are a new patient... Sometimes in some specialties doctors will stay late and keep clinic open to add appts...
Yes just put in care of or highlight patient
They have walk in clinics available for dentistry. Call the number for the dental department and it will tell you which days and times.
There free
Meal cards for families are 6 dollars.... You can work with the resource Center folks to get discounts to hotels...
Yes they also have the emergency room..
Yes, there are translators available according to your needs
Tga? What is tga?
You can stay at Ronald McDonald house even if your local but you are put on the bottom of the list. But its real easy to register just go to there websight and register then your social worker will send them your hospital stay info. But they always had a room for us we spent 18 months at children's. Its no cost to you unless you can donate is all they ask. Very nice rooms and they feed you twice a day plus snacks and a full kitchen. Good luck with everything.
Id call and ask for the Family Living Center. They have associates that do crafty things. They can tell you better.
When our daughter had her 2 heart surgeries we went to ? The medical records room and got all her files to keep

I agree with Shakida, Extended Stay. Rooms are bigger, roomier.

The circle is a mess only made for drop offs. There is valet parking and a garage.
