I am wondering if there are programs where our small church group can come and help out as a group maybe serve a meal or something?

I see homeless people all the time on the streets. I used to give them money but now I go back and forth trying to decide if I am helping or hurting by doing this. I donate through my church but still am confused as to what to do when I see them with their signs. Any suggestions?
