Ferrets cannot be legally sold or bred in California, they would likely be transferred out of state even if one were surrendered. You can own them but you have to buy out of state and bring them back with papers showing they have been fixed.

No, ferrets are not legal to have as pets in California. They are transferred to other humane societies out of state when they come in.
