Apparently the owner didn’t like my negative review and flagged it. Well guess what I’m back to warn of the DISCRIMINATION THIS PLACE HAS AGAINST RENTERS. We were looking for a dog and we’re were renting a dog friendly apartment, came here looking for puppies, waited almost 45 minutes trying not to step on the cats running around, watched one fall into a can of paint because they cannot be bothered to secure their animals when doing maintenance, finally got our applications, only to have them thrown out when the owner saw we didn’t own a house with a fence SOMETHING THAT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR LOW WAGE WORKERS. Wouldn’t even meet with us, just asked her employee (who was very nice and understanding) to throw us out. Need more? Look how rude and dismissive she is to negative reviews, look how many people talk about her attitude and how many sick animals come out of here. This woman is why people shop and not adopt. Go to SCPAs, go to PetSmart, go to credited breeders, DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR FUR BABIES.

I’ve been calling everyday multiple times a day for 2 weeks and NO ONE has answered the phone. I filled out an application 2 weeks ago and no email or call back with an update yet. They don’t take walk-ins so HOW am I supposed to see/adoption an animal if they can’t be reached…?

As of matter of yes. Please contact the shelter. The mother Mary just had 5 puppies. Absolutely adorable. They were born not long ago . Please inquire about them soon . They will go fast .

Hope for life is a great organization! I rescued a momma and her pups and they didnt hesitate to assist while I continued to foster. They are very kind and give attention to all animals in their care. None of the animals are in cages or crates and are very well looked after. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt OR rehome!

I am not really sure about what the ages but you can always pick up the phone and call and they will be more than happy to I know you have to fill out the paperwork. I did a bit of volunteering there for quite a few years. They are absolutely the best and wonderful people to work with I really care about the welfare and care of all the animals

The last time I was in there they had a pitbull puppy in with the puppy I adopted!
If you are trying to surrender your dog they only pull from shelters. They dont take owner surrenders

Then please call Hope for life to see how they could help you in this situation. It's never easy I know. I will let them know you are gonna call them . No we don't have the facilities required for wildlife. The VB SPCA has a wildlife program.
This is a good rescue. They don't cage up the animals. They get to roam free. They are caring and loving here.
Contact VBSPCA's hotline or call Hope For Life during working hours. I also suggest posting on Facebooks's Hampton Roads Lost and Found Pets (And Hodgepodge of Other Things) as there are many experienced rescue volunteers willing to take in cats.
