We got our current member of the family here. Fantastic people and organization.

Well, I'm biased because I adopted my cat from here. But only after becoming a cat socializing volunteer several years ago. The facility is very modern and still has a new feel. Three floors with three different types of domestic animal. Very clean and well cared for, as are the animals. A great place to socialize and adopt.

I really recommend adopting pet here. Great customer service and pets! They get new pets every Monday and Friday.

We love SPCA Peninsula! The facility is great with plenty of space for pets to be adopted. Well organized process, and even had a small store with essentials for first pet families.

Carmie, our Burlingame location does not take in strays, but our 12 Airport Blvd. San Mateo location does. You can learn more here https://phs-spca.org/arc/ and call in a stray here 650-340-8200.
We didn't see Chinchillas, we went straight to the cats
Hi Patrina, Please continue to visit our website to see the dogs we have available for adoption. If you see a dog you are interested in meeting, please call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment.
Ferrets cannot be legally sold or bred in California, they would likely be transferred out of state even if one were surrendered. You can own them but you have to buy out of state and bring them back with papers showing they have been fixed.
I've seen them there. I hope You get one & bring it to its forever Loving Home. Pit bulls are Great Dogs. Congratulations before you choose your 4legged baby
The SPCA has programs for volunteers. Only trained volunteers interact with the animals unless it is an adoption interview. You can volunteer as little as 3 hours a week. Weekends are available. Come walk a dog, play with a cat or support wildlife. Training is required. I have been a volunteer on the kitten nursery for six years.
Well Amy I live in a kinda semi rual area of SSF 1 acre lots right next to where I live. I have helped trap ferrel cat's that had been breeding one litter after another, a nice volunteer woman from humane society pick s them up neuters them brings them back what great thing she feeds 355 ayr. She ask me or someone she trusts, while on vacation
Nearest SPCA like this one.
Hi Toku, I'm not sure what other shelters do, but we have thorough conversations with potential adopters to determine the animal they are interested in will be going to a home that is a good match for the animal and for them. We also have an adoption fee.
Hi, at the moment we do not have any up for adoption. They should be coming out of foster care in mid-May. Hope that helps, Lisa
Hi Lynette, Cooper is 14 years old and we are evaluating his health and behavior for adoptability. If Muttville is interested in taking him please have them reach out to us. Thank you!
Yes, during our open hours, you can peruse the available animals at our shelter on your own. If you would like to meet an animal though, it's best to schedule an appointment.
No, the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is an open door shelter accepting all animals at anytime in any condition which means there may be times when an animal is untreatable and euthanasia is the only option.
Please visit our website here https://phs-spca.org/adopt/ and call 650-340-7022 if you have questions. Thanks for considering adopting!
We are doing adoptions by appointment only. Please check our website for available dogs https://phs-spca.org/adopt/dogs/ and call 650-340-7022. Thanks for adopting!
Hi Fatima, Please call us at 650-340-7022 to speak to an adoption counselor regarding animals available for adoption.
Hello, Unfortunately we cannot provide boarding for the dogs. We suggest you contact a dog boarding facility or pet hotel. Best, Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA
Yes, call them first
Hi Nicole, We have many rabbits available for adoption. Please visit our website to learn more about the adoptable rabbits. We are open for adoptions by appointment only, so when you're ready to meet some rabbits, call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment.
Animal control
Hi Sandy, We do accept used towels for our animals. You can bring the towels to either of our shelters: 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame or 12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo. Thank you!
No, I'm sorry we do not have public wifi at our shelters.
Joshua, if you have found a cat, you can bring him/her to our shelter in San Mateo at 12 Airport Blvd. More info here https://phs-spca.org/lostfound-domestic/
Anthony, our log shows we haven't received any emails from you and there's nothing in our spam folder either. Can you tell me the email address you used?
Hi Leni, the surrender fee is $60. You can learn more here https://phs-spca.org/surrendering/
Hi Serene, the fees for surrendering an animal are set by San Mateo County. We collect and transfer the fees to the County through a contract with have with them. Peninsula Humane Society does not set the fees or keep them.
Sometimes we do, many times we have Beagles mixed with another type of dog. The best thing to do is to visit our shelter in Burlingame to see who needs a home and if anyone catches your eye.
So Nice SPCA Came on & Helped You! Great Job SPCA Owner. I would have blown it I've been there w/Family getting a Dog or Cat. I never saw the reptile area so I would have given the wrong answer/not good advice.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with PHS. However, we require youth to be 13 years old or older to become a Jr Volunteer. We hope to see you next year! For more information about our Jr Volunteer program, https://phs-spca.org/volunteer/positions/junior/.
If you do so, please consider providing a donation to the SPCA. They will be treating and looking after your dog for as long as necessary - and the vet bills, processing, food, shelter and supervision is expensive for them. It's the least you can do.
Our dogs are always changing, so please visit us to see who would be a good match for you. We are opem 11am - 7pm Monday - Friday and 11am - 6pm Saturday- Sunday.
I don't know of any in the Half Moon Bay area, but our adoption fees include a spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, health check and microchip. In February we are running a Valentine Promotion where we waive the fee for senior cats and dogs. Many times a senior pet is a perfect match for a senior companion.
Hi Corie, if your dog is missing, please visit us at 12 Airport Blvd in San Mateo to see if your dog is at our Coyote Point shelter. We cannot take missing or found animal reports via our Google page. Our website has more information about lost animals at https://phs-spca.org/lost-found/. We hope you and Chunk are reunited soon.
Can you explain a little more?
We have a low-cost immunization clinic on the first Wednesday of every month at 6 pm.
Our San Mateo refuge at 12 Airport Blvd (next to Coyote Point Park) is our refuge. Please bring the kittens there. Our hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. at 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. at 6 p.m. thanks!
The kitten season usually starts in May. It generally runs to October. You may view kittens on the second floor during that time. They go to foster until they are old enough. Kittens that are available for adoption and have been spayed or neutered you will find on the third floor.
Im not sure
I don't know if they currently have any, but friends have in past from there
