Soon to be a new arrival to Ft. Gordon. I would only need a 2 or 3 bedroom. Reading these reviews for base housing is worrying me. ... Is it really this bad? How are the conditions of the units? Price wise Is it comparable to of base?

I have lived in base housing for the last 3 years. It's nothing fancy, but it is decent and a huge time saver. Though Gordon terrace is the least nice housing area and all the others have been recently remodeled.

It honestly isn't THAT bad. Most military housing is not fantastic, but it keeps the rain off of you. The biggest issue with living off post is the commute times. You will save hours of your life by living on post. The gates are not easy to get through during the busy times. Being late to PT formation because the gates were jammed up with traffic is not an acceptable excuse, so plan on leaving the house crazy early if you live off post.

Not that bad. Some are better than others. For a 3 bedroom, it is cheaper. For a 2 no. But you are close to alot of things, even a dog park. Schools are great.
