Parking at Disney is $22 a day for all four parks. The shuttle is $8 and Ubers are around $5. Shuttles and Ubers you're on their schedules and if you drive your own car you're on your schedule.
We were at the Wyndham in December, it was easier to take the shuttle. However, you will need to take a wheelbarrow full of $100 bills to go into Disney. I think going to the Kennedy Space Center was more educational. We had our Granddaughter's (12 and 9) with us. They also enjoyed Sea World more.
Uber is much cheaper, but from wyndham grand hotel the shuttle is free, pick up shuttle schedule at concierge desk in lobby
Uber Is $5
The Uber or Lyft thing will save a few bucks for you if you plan to visit just one park each day. Also, you can use Disney transport between parks and the wait is usually pretty minor. As Jenna said, if you choose the resort shuttle, you are most definitely stuck to their schedule for pick up and drop off. If you park hop frequently, like we do, it's worth the ridiculous parking fee, since at least it's good at all the parks for that day. Come and go as you please, plus "trunk locker" action.
You are on the resorts time frame for shuttle service. We have used it before and it was good, but I do like the flexibility of having your own vehicle. That being said, I think Disney's charge for parking is really just a money grab. Between the cost of ticket and meals and merchandise I believe a family spends more than enough to cover parking costs.
We were there last week. We drive our car. There were seven if us so it only made sense to drive. Parking at the parks is 22.00. We noticed that often people were waiting for their shuttles, and we were able to just load up the kids right away and get back to the resort. The resort is nice and close to all parks.
Agree with Uber. It's about $20 round trip so if you have more than two people it'll safe to money and it's a lot for flexible on time. When you Uber home go to the drop off pick up zone at any of the parks. Any employee can tell you where it is.
My advice is take an uber, it's cheaper for more than 2 people and you can go on your own schedule.
