Was referred to Shans hospital. I recieved a phone call and during the call was told that she didn't think they took our health coverage. Do. They just let you die in Florida if you are poor......this is awful

You can absolutely be denied certain medical care in Florida based on your ability to pay and/or the quality of insurance you can afford. Last I knew only California and Massachusetts offer universal access to all levels of medical care regardless of the patient's ability to pay-- since both of those states offer universal healthcare. Florida is very much the opposite, I would never wish being Medicaid dependent on my worst enemy in Florida, seriously.

First, I would contact their financial department to be sure. If they don't and you're in need of hospital treatment or have a hospital bill, they have a financial assistance program.
