Studyedge is great! Are there more classes coming to this platfrom?

Joe

Aug 26, 2022

Instead of canceling the subscription at the end of the semester, Study Edge decides to let it automatically renew for $50--no automatic cancellation at the end of the semester, no automatic e-mail notification that it's about to renew, nothing. If you want a refund to your original payment method, they only offer 50% of it back due to 'processing fees'. Though, that's IF they feel like providing any form of reimbursement. I do not buy the excuse that people want to stay enrolled in automatic renewal after the semester ends if they take courses offered by Study Edge next semester. I can easily renew if that is the case. I've never had a moment where I thought to myself, "thank you Study Edge for automatically renewing me for my next semester when I can renew myself whenever I so please. I would have forgotten!" but I certainly thought to myself, "Oh, they charged me $50 when I'm not even going to use Study Edge next semester/ever. Fantastic, now I have to waste people's time with e-mails or potentially dispute the charge with my credit card company!" Also, the token system is ridiculous. Why not give students more tokens every month for video heavy courses (e.g. Finance) instead of us needing to bother support for more tokens every time we need more? If a student cancels, Study Edge takes their tokens away anyway so this cannot be abused. Overall, there's great tutors for the most part, but a ridiculous company.

If I am a business major, does Study Edge recommend that I purchase a gold or diamond membership for the courses that I am taking like macro and microeconomics and survey of calculus?

Haley Park | Feb 23, 2022
Study Edge | Mar 25, 2022

Hi Haley! Typically, we recommend the Gold Membership for students using Study Edge for one course. However, given the number of courses you indicate using us for, we strongly recommend a Diamond Membership. This will give you more tokens which will make it easier to watch review videos and access our online services uninterrupted.

Claudia Candela | Feb 23, 2022
Study Edge | Mar 25, 2022

Hi Claudia, we do not livestream our reviews for same-time remote viewing. If you are unable to attend the live review session, the recording of the session will be posted to our app by 10 A.M. the next morning!

Is there a difference in content deliverance if I attend an in-person exam review session as opposed to only watching them online? Will I be missing out or at a disadvantage if I never go to an in-person review?

Caroline Lee | Feb 23, 2022
Study Edge | Mar 25, 2022

Hi Caroline! All of our live in-person review sessions are recorded and posted to our app by 10 A.M. the next morning, so it is the exact same content deliverance on both viewing platforms. However, students who attend the in-person review sessions are able to ask questions as they arise while reviewing the material which can be an advantage in understanding the material.

How do you guys stay up to date on class material if a professor decides to change how they usually teach?

Justin Greenberg | Sep 19, 2022
Study Edge | Sep 20, 2022

Hey Justin, That's a great question. First, we have learned to predict how the class flows based on our many years of experience following along the classes. Second, we use the syllabus that shows the pace at which a class moves. Finally, we listen to students are actively taking the class, and we learn about any updates or deviations from the syllabus.

Will I have the opportunity to ask the tutors specific questions I have about the material?

Katie Mckibben | Sep 19, 2022
Study Edge | Sep 19, 2022

Hey Katie, There are multiple opportunities to ask specific questions. First, you can ask questions throughout the review if you attend the live review session. Second, each class has study hours. These are just like a professor's office hours, but we do them over Zoom or in Library West. Finally, if you have any material-related questions, we definitely encourage you to post them to your Class Wall (can be found in Study Edge Web App). This will allow an opportunity for other students to see the question and answer in case they have a similar question. The Study Experts should answer your question within 24 hours if posted to the Class Wall. Happy Studying!

can I use study edge for multiple classes or is it one per membership?

Annalee Watts | Apr 24, 2022
emily fischman | Apr 24, 2022

you can get multiple classes with one membership!

Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership after I have already bought it?

Faith R | Apr 24, 2022
Study Edge Marketing | Apr 24, 2022

If you upgrade your membership, your credit card is immediately charged the full cost of the new membership, and your tokens are replenished to the new membership level. Your tokens will then be replenished and your credit card will be charged the next month on the date that you upgraded. For example, if you upgrade from a Gold membership to a Diamond membership on September 10th, you will be replenished to 200 tokens that day and your credit card will be charged $75. Your tokens will be replenished back to 200 again on October 10th. If you decide to downgrade your membership level, your tokens will be set to that membership level, and you are charged the amount of the new membership on your next replenishment date. For example, if you downgrade from a Diamond membership to a Gold membership, you will be charged $50 instead of $75 on your next monthly recharge date, and your tokens will be replenished to 100 instead of 200. You can make changes to your membership on "My Account" page

Hi Jaclyn! We offer a variety of other resources for our members including study hours and a "class wall" option. Do the concept reviews from the tutors ever differ from the information provided in class?

Brennan | Nov 25, 2021
Study Edge | Nov 25, 2021

Hi Brennan! Our concept review videos are based off the material taught by your professors during lecture. We tailor our material to best follow the concepts of each of the lectures. Similarly, our review sessions are created to follow the same content order that the material is taught in your class. There are some instances where our tutors may see a more efficient way to explain a concept or go further in depth, but the overall content comes from the same concepts.
