HI Jess, it's probably too cold to go swimming this time of year. I'd wait about another month or two or early summer before it gets too hot. We do not have campgrounds right on the water. We do not have any lakes. There is camping near the Santa Ynez River in the Santa Ynez Valley north of Santa Barbara. The campgrounds are nice and near the River. Paradise Campground, Los Prietos and Upper Oso. I think Los Prietos is the nicest. $30/night. You can make a reservation: www.recreation.gov. You can drive on Paradise Road back to Red Rock which is a big deep pool that you can swim in. I think you'd like that. The only other campground near water is Arroyo Seco up in the Monterey Ranger District. There is a river there that you can swim in. This campground is near King City. It's pretty this time of year, but very hot in the summer. I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you need more information. Jennifer (805) 925-9538 X 0
