You won't be waiting at the airport but you have to take the shuttle to go to hertz which is off airport. Not too far. When you get there you can just go to the kiosks where you will talk to a representative who will complete your booking and other formalities. You will be assigned a lot to go to and pick up which ever car you want in that lot.
Dropping the rental back at LAX was quick and easy. Great service Hertz! I will definitely use you again next time I'm in Cali.

I recommend the gold membership. Its free and there is no waiting at all. You look atthe board find your lot number and drive away. If you have a reservation or NOT they make you wait in line for a kiosk or a representative. Ive spent hours in either line with a reservation.
No sir if you are a rewards member your name will be on the main board with the location of your rental. You will however, have to take the shuttle from airport to Hertz rental car center.
You can use a kiosk, u need not wait in line. The kiosk is faster and easy to use.
You will also have to wait in line as well.
