I 've been feeding an injured squirrel on the CSUS campus. I'm not sure if it was attacked or got caught on something but it has lacerations on 1 arm and 1 leg. Who can I call for help?

Even when injured, adult squirrels can be very feisty. If you are unable to capture him safely by yourself, you can call your local animal control and they will be able to transport the animal to the facility. Best of luck.

If the lacerations are no longer bleeding your squirrel will heal in record time. I was amazed at how quickly they recovered from what I considered to be devastating wounds. Unless they're losing blood or have a bone broken the stress of catching them and putting them through any treatment would probably be worse for them than just allowing them to heal.

I will try to catch him in a humane trap tomorrow . Thank you.
