It's my understanding that you can't get an in person appointment unless your travel date is within 2 weeks. Then, IF YOU GET THROUGH THE PHONE LINE (START AT 5 a.m.), the date could be given within the next 3 days. Getting an appointment is extremely hard. Try calling for a dry run to get an idea. I'm not sure about the mailing time. But either way you should probably get at it.. Good luck.
