Can the car license plates go on the windshield or do they have to be hung from the front?

They can go in front of the windshield, they just raise it a little at the time before the review for the officer to read.

Most of the time they wont care but I've had them give me a 'warning' for not having it on the front in the proper spot, also.

Does your license plates have to be hanging off the front bumper for sentri or can it be in the windshield
