Muni bus #44 drops you outside or #5 bus to 8th & Fulton then a 5 minute walk or #7 bus to 9th & Lincoln & 10 minute walk. Depends on what bit you of the city you traveling from but both routes cross the #44 including the N tram Judha at 9th & Judha.

Take the N (outbound towards Ocean Beach) from any of the BART stops between Embarcadero and Civic Center (Muni and BART are in the same station, just head up one level). Get off at Irving and 9th and it's a half mile walk through the park.

The N to 9th & Irving is your best, most comfortable option. You don't have to exit the train station to board a bus, it's not subject to the same traffic as the buses are, and you get to walk down 9th and check out some of what the Inner Sunset neighborhood has to offer on that single block stroll.
