This garden is absolutely gorgeous! We visited right when it opened and it was so quiet and relaxing that we didn't want to leave. The garden is so well maintained and easy to walk around. They also have a tea shop and a gift shop at the back right corner of the garden. One of the structures is under construction so it was covered, but even that didn't take away from the beauty of the place. We were glad we arrived when we did because a lot more people started showing up about an hour after opening and there were even a couple of field trip groups that arrived, so by the time we left it definitely was noisier and not as peaceful. I highly recommend visiting and if you can, go during a less busy time.

We didn’t realize there were 3 gardens to visit. We were specifically going for the tea house so stuck to that garden with our limited time today. It was small but beautiful. We were here a total of an hour. Everything at the tea house was delicious but quite pricey and small portions. Gorgeous place to spend the morning. Hoping to be able to check out the other 2 gardens as well.

I love gardens, and consider good landscaping as expressive as any painting or poem out there. The tea garden is truly beautiful and I HIGHLY recommend using Big Bus as the means of transportation to get there. The breathtaking architecture that San Francisco has to offer, "primes" one and puts you in an observing state of mind. Unfortunately, I realized that I have no taste for either tea or the different treats they offer. Besides, if an establishment sells refreshments, food/treats and has a "gift"shop, is there really a need to charge an entrance fee? That being said, the store was amazing!

Absolutely stunning grounds, and everyone was super polite and kind, even other tourists! Super respectful place with gorgeous gardens everywhere you looked. I wish the pagoda was in proper order currently because it would have been a wonderful addition to see, but all the more reason to keep coming back until we get the opportunity to see it ☺️

Very rarely, on special occasions. Only twice in the past year.
Yes there os parking all around the park. We were there on a Sunday and it seemed lime as soon as 1 person pulled out another 5 were waiting to pull in. You can save yourself the trouble and make arrangements to get dropped off.
It is! Patio is open air and they have customers sitting a healthy distance away from each other.

I don"t think so :(
Yes it is open, just was there
Yes you can buy at the entrance to the person who says that it's cheaper for residents well that's not exactly accurate it's actually free for San Francisco residents
You can park along the streets outside the park but if you don't find any there is a parking lot inside the park under ground with a lot of spaces you have to pay but is not much (you pay before leaving) we got to our car and realized someone have to go upstairs and pay the ticket.
No fee for taking photos
yes
It's $7 unless you go on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday before 10am
It is free if you enter before 10am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The tea garden opens at 9am.
It's about 10-12 ft tall
Im assuming that would have to be cleared with garden mgmt.

Yes, they have bathrooms here, but you must pay for admission into the garden.
Last time I've been there, there were multiple fans to choose from with floral and other designs (mythological creatures, symbols, etc)
Along nearby streets. There is not a dedicated parking lot for the Garden.
The Japanese Tea Garden. Tea House, and Gift shop are Open Daily with no holiday closures. Summer (3/1 through 10/31): 9:00 am to 5:45 pm Winter (11/1 through 2/28): 9:00 am to 4:45 pm
$10, unless you're a SF resident then it is cheaper. Also, they offer no student discounts.
Finding street parking is the cheapest option although it might involve some walking. Apart from underground parking mentioned previously they also have special event paid parking right across.
You can wear what you want it might be fun however dont be shocked if you get weird looks
There are some paths that are but a lot that isn't. Lots of narrow stepping stone paths that wouldn't be accessible for a wheelchair.
Yes
Drones are allowed in Golden Gate Park, unsure if you need a license to do so since this is inside a national park
I tried green tea cheese cake which was awesome and sesame cookies which was also good.
No need. There's not much crowd
You can bring it but in the tea garden cafe area, there are signs that outside food is not allowed. This park survives on volunteers that give tours and run the concessions. The price of the concession is fair and it helps keep the Garden open for all to enjoy. I hope that helps!
You can park in golden gate parking lot or road sides. But, it's very crowded in weekend.
No need to plan ahead. Just walk up to the booth right at the entrance to pay the entry fee. They do accept cash
Yes, there is free parking on side of road to Golden Gate park and then you'd have to walk to the garden entrance.
They are already in the Japanise Garden in Golden GatePark.
If you arrive before 10 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday it's free. If you arrive after or on any other day, it's $9.00 per person.
It is walking only. It is too small even for bicycle
I would send a picture of what it looked like in the early part of March, but I can't seem to figure out how to upload a photo.
Yes its opened
I don't think so. There isn't really a space for it.
9$ / person
They are open. On their website (under visit) it says they do not close for holidays.
The park is open the museum's are closed , some things might be closed because of government shutdown. The tea garden and arboretum are open and free admission on Christmas dau
I believe it is $9 every day. There is a discount for people who live in San Francisco, but I don't know how much.
It dependa on the season. You can check out hours and prices on their website: http://japaneseteagardensf.com/visit.php
In Golden Gate Park, between the Sunset and Richmond districts. Tip: City residents can get free admission with proof of residency
Yes. They have a ticket booth where you can pay and get inside
I believe there's free parking on the street, but make sure you read their rules. We found a private parking, $10 per day, which in San Francisco is cheap. Most places are $40+ per day.
1. No, you buy it there. 2. I think 8 dollars.
Great idea. It's lovely. Call and find out. Let us know.
You can park on the streets around the park and it is free (4hr max until 6pm). Apparently it gets pretty busy on weekends so there's also a parking garage operated privately for the California Academy of Sciences (within walking distance) that you can look up on their for most up to date pricing. We went on a Thursday during the summer and had no problem parking on the street.
$9 per adult n $2 for kids 3-10
No reservations needed. Plus tea service doesn't do reservations but line moves very quickly.
9 dollars
If you live in San Francisco, with an identification card, then $ 6 adults.
There is a Parking Garage near by. And on Street Parking is available, but requires luck ;-) Edit: parking garage is below the California academy of sciences
Yes, they accept credit cards and you get a discount if you are a resident of San Francisco and show your ID.
Yes there is paid parking zone as well as free parking zone. The paid parking zone costs for $6 for 1hour parking.
That is correct but only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
