Thus museum has a great collection of American artists' paintings and sculptures. There are historical motifs through modern art, and collections from the Pacific Islands, Africa, and a good representation of Indigenous American pieces. In addition, we were lucky to see the traveling exhibit of the official Obama portraits. These were exceptional and well worth seeing. The museum cafe has a great selection of well-prepared food to eat, and is reasonably priced.

Great variety in a really impressive building - similar to SF MoMA (the building, not the art). I went for the Alice Neil exhibit and the curator really thought of everything - how high to paint the faux ceiling, what paintings to place by the entrance, etc. Good variety of different styles - impressionist landscapes to surrealist portraits. The back patio area would be a great place to have a coffee and a pastry.

I love this museum. Just large enough to see in one day with out getting overwhelmed by art. The Alice Neely exhibit was great, saw the bouquet of arts as well, always fun. The new exhibit on the main floor was a nice change. I didn't take photos inside, just of the observation area.

Wonderful art exhibit! Could spend the whole day looking at everything! My only request? Cool it down a bit more. Unless it's necessary to have it at a certain temp. All those people create body heat and it got a little toasty. Otherwise a wonderful experience! Looking forward to our next trip!

The Japanese Tea Garden is right next to the de Young Museum. Admission is separate.

There are a few on the YouTube playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5eMm5mgGrVBhmORdByFBe1rklmtiUYEY
You need to contact the museum directly.
In most of the galleries it is OK. They let you know when it is prohibited.
Yes, and you should make them right away.

Yes.
No they do not rent motorized carts.
I don't know. I went in San Francisco one year ago
Directly in the garage, which covers De Young museum and CA Academy of Sciences.
Along the road or the nearby parking garage if it isn't full
Did you mean de young museum? If yes, there is a sculpture garden but I am not aware of a underground chamber.
There is usually no time limit for special exhibits. Also, the ticket you buy at the museum is also good for entry at The Palace For The Legion Of Honor on the same day.
Between $20-$30. Adults on the weekend $29. All prices here https://deyoung.famsf.org/haring/tickets
I've always parked nearby and walked. It might take a while but the walk is pleasant. Otherwise, there is a parking lot but I haven't used it in years
not Wednesday, but the first Tuesday of the month
You really need to call them. These questions are answered by random Google Maps users like me - not necessarily folks from the museum.
Unless there is a special, dedicated exhibition, I am not aware of Teenie Harris's photography being part of the de Young's permanent, rotating collection on display.
If you bank w/Bank if America the first full weekend of the month will get you into the permanent collection for free. You would still have to pay parking etc. They do have special events, generally in the evening that may be free to residents or otherwise.
Yes. paid parking is pricey, free parking if you don't mind walking a bit. Worse on weekends.
Muni bus #44 drops you outside or #5 bus to 8th & Fulton then a 5 minute walk or #7 bus to 9th & Lincoln & 10 minute walk. Depends on what bit you of the city you traveling from but both routes cross the #44 including the N tram Judha at 9th & Judha.
For adults it is worth $ 35. Children depend on age. The first Tuesday of each month is free.
