Gorgeous conservatory in Golden Gate Park with a wide variety of unique and beautiful plants and several climates. Stepping inside the conservatory transports you into the middle of a tropical rainforest. I found the experience very calm and relaxing. Definitely recommended, and it’s free for SF residents.

This place is so cool! it is not too big either which I think is great. You can really take time to see the various rooms without feeling exhausted. We went on a lovely sunny day so keep in mind the temp and humidity is such to keep very tropical plants thriving in here (so no jackets are needed!). Once you’re done I highly recommend sitting on the lawn with a blanket and having a picnic if the weather allows. The perfect afternoon in my opinion. Great place to take visitors.

This place is a plant lover’s paradise. The plants were maintained very well with separate temperature/humidity controlled areas. The highlight was the aquatic plants section with giant water lily. It was soothing and relaxing to spend time inside. You could also get some pictures here, they have setup benches with beautiful backgrounds. If you are an SF resident, you have free access, and the lawn just outside the conservatory makes an amazing picnic spot!

Such an amazing place! Multiple rooms with different atmospheres and temperatures- I was wearing a wool coat which I do NOT recommend for inside. I was very tempted to buy one of each plant available in the gift shop to take home. Couldn’t stop taking pictures and videos. A place I want to go back to every time I’m in the city and could easily afford to as it’s reasonably priced per person.

There were 2 different groups of a similar size both having picnics on the lawn directly in front of the conservatory without any problems
Hey Debbi...you don't..
Park on JFK Drive. It stays well lit. Don't park on Conservatory Drive-it gets very dark & car break ins are frequent. Or you can park in Music Concourse Garage
There's a little booth outside that has snacks, and typically a hot dog tent not too far away, but there's no food in the conservatory.
For regular entry, you get your tickets upon arrival and enter after. You don't need to get their early like a concert or anything. Hope this helps!
You can park close to the academy of sciences or the tennis courts and walk
I totally agree with Tomasa. They guy who assisted us when we visited was nice, I'm sure he is the one responding the emails 😊🤔
Yep, still in bloom.
Haven't seen anything like that around... You wanna call them to double check. They might possibly have a space where you can safely park your bike while enjoying the tour...
You must call them.
They might have one
Yes
There are several prices, please check their website https://conservatoryofflowers.org/visit/
Right now you see cinera I'm
Call the Conservatory. I think you can have private tours scheduled so why not a photo shot, especially if it brings them positive publicity.
It's temperature and moisture controlled in each room and every room has something different. You can see what's blooming on their website.
Tickets are purchased in front upon entry
It's very small, just 10 mins to go around. If you study about tropical trees so you may need a tour guide. If you're just a visitor, you shouldn't need to.
I don't think so . There's no lot to park mostly just side of the street parking for the park and conservatory .
If you want to oraganize an event then yes, you need to book it. If you are just visiting then pay the entry fee and enter. I dont think it is any different during june. Hopefully, not!
We no longer have a butterfly exhibit. That was our featured exhibit a year ago.
