Is it still true that the road to the trailhead is very rough to drive on? Will a sedan survive?

We had an outback, so similar clearance, it was very rough but doable, took us about half and hour to go 6 miles so as to not pop a tire or damage undercarriage.

Was just up there last Friday, would be a rough slow drive with a sedan but possible.

Yes, it is in very bad shape. Huge potholes. I wouldnt recommend driving a car without some good clearance and/or 4wd I did see one vw jetta that somehow made it up.

You could make it with a sedan, but you have to take it very slow. Lots of potholes. The road is very rough.
