Pinecrest gets tons of snow. The county, Dodge Ridge, Pinecrest Lake Resort and the community business' do a great job at snow removal but always carry chains and a shovel.

I went on January 20th and there was plenty of snow. They even had chain requirements

I know that Dodge Ridge and cal trans both have live cameras up. You could also call the Steam Donkey and ask the staff. Hope that helps.
