An amazing, hidden family friendly gem! You can take adults and kids of any age and have fun all day on the hills. They supply everything you need for tubing (no need to bring a sled or tube). They even have a really nice cafe where you can eat inside or outside. The staff is super nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

A wonderful place to play, for both kids and parents!! What an awesome sledding area for big kids and adults. All the five lines on the big hill are different and amazing in their own way. We liked the small hill for our younger kid too. There is playarea for snowball fights and making snowmen. Weekend price for people above 44" is $47 and for kids below 44" is $24. The small kids can use only the small sledding hill. There are lifts for both hills. They provide the snow tubes, so no need to bring them from home. Just come with snow boots and snow bibs. There is food and drinks inside. Just go and enjoy the day in snow. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Food/snacks were okay. A little pricey for the weekend. Atmosphere was fantastic. Activities for the kiddos and adults. We had a blast at Leland Snowplay. Definitely will be back.

We love it here! We always have a blast. We’ve been other snow play areas and nothing compares to here. The people are kind and friendly too. They also added a snow play area for kids. Clean soft snow to play with.

The official answer assumes the general public are clueless. Great way to talk down to people. I'm sure you're a real joy to converse with.
Mittens are available there but Snow clothes aren't available there. They will give snow tube for play
If they have snow then they will stay open. They also have snow machines to make it more enjoyable for everyone.
Leland Snowplay is open as long as we have the snow to safely operate and we have guests who want to play in snow. This typically means we are open into April, but that is largely dependant on the weather, which we can't predict. On their website it says no dogs allowed, but service animals are welcomed
We always stay in the town of Sonora. There are several hotels, motels and lodges to choose from. Plenty of restaurants and other local attractions. Drive from Sonora to Leland is 50 minutes.
Not sure, but I bought mine online and it's guaranteed entrance. Apparently there is limits now on people entering due to covid-19.
I'm pretty sure you can pay when you get there just try to get there right at 10 or maybe 15 minutes before to ensure that you get in it's a great place wear your masks and have fun happy New Year
No, as stated on our website at snowplay.com, pets are NOT allowed in the Park. https://sites.google.com/prod/view/snowplay-facebook-faq/public-safety-rules-regulations/are-pets-allowed-at-leland-snowplay?
They do not have an arcade there, but they do have food, fireplace and a tv there.
Due to insurance requirements and the over-regulated and litigious State of California, all persons entering the park must be properly ticketed. https://sites.google.com/prod/view/snowplay-facebook-faq/ticket-pricing-equipment-rentals/im-not-planning-on-tubing-or-sledding-do-i-need-to-purchase-a-ticket?
All prices are publicly available on our website; snowplay.com. Please, DO NOT rely on any other source for information on prices, such as the other INCORRECT answers posted by "local guides". Thank you.
If you are referring to chain controls, please do not take someone else's word for how the roads are. Road conditions change with the weather, and no one is qualified to gauge your vehicle’s capabilities or your personal abilities as a driver. Leland Snowplay will never provide road conditions information or tell if you need chains. That is irresponsible. Rather, we direct all persons to the Cal Trans website for current conditions and encourage people to pay attention to the weather. For more information on chain controls, please see the following link, and please don't ask John Q. Public questions involving your safety; what would they know about living in the mountains and snow? https://sites.google.com/prod/view/snowplay-facebook-faq/directions-weather-road-conditions/do-i-need-tire-chains-to-reach-leland-snowplay?
Yes. The park is 12 acres in size, and has large areas for general snow play. Please see the link below. https://sites.google.com/prod/view/snowplay-facebook-faq/about-leland-snowplay/what-services-does-leland-snowplay-provide?
Leland Snowplay is a snow tubing, sledding, and snow play facility. There are no snowmobiling services.
Yes, as shown on the publicly available calander at snowplay.com, Leland Snowplay is open every day for Christmas Break Vacation. Thank you. --- https://sites.google.com/prod/view/snowplay-facebook-faq/dates-hours-of-operations/is-leland-snowplay-open-today?
What service is the animal TRAINED to provide?
Leland Snowplay is a snow tubing, sledding, and snow play facility; not a ski and snowboarding resort.
Yes I highly recommend them. We got some once we got into town at a convenience store. But you should get them before getting to that point. You will see signs letting you know when to put them on
They do sell some stuff there, but id call and ask just to see if they have anything in stock. If not, on the way up you pass through the city of Sonora and they have Walmart, Kohls, and even a Ross that you could stop in off the highway and grab a pair at.
Per their facebook page they are up and running for the season!
