This place is awesome! My family and I love coming here!

We actually said less than a half a mile from the pinecrest campground . So beautiful and touristy at the same time. Gets packed fairly quickly. And is a first come first served location. Great attractions from the man made beach, trails, grocery store restaurant and little food hut and truck. One of the best ice cream cones Iβve ever had ranging from $4-$5 dollars. Small or large. Camping was peaceful and clean area. $34 day with hostess onsite. Looking forward to returning soon

This place is my #1 most favorite place to camp for far to many reasons to count!

Fun place for families! Good people up there, nice views, plenty to do, some shopping, bike/boat rentals. Campsites are maintained π

Oh you bet we do! "ELLLLLLLLMMMMMMEEEERRRRRRR!!!!" haha
Supposedly, they're calling out for a little boy lost in the woods about a hundred years ago.
It's a legend that has several variations. (I've heard it by the name Lars.) The story goes that a boy got lost from his group/camp site. Then the entire campground went around looking for him yelling "Elllllmer". One version of the story goes that he was discovered sleeping in the wrong tent (he had mistaken it for his own). The memory of the entire campround walking around searching for him yelling "Ellllmer" lives on.
Here I am . LOL .
I'm not sure I never camped but I saw a lot of dogs in camping area.
The D loop is closest to the lake. Our 360 photo tour of this entire campground will be available by the Spring.
They say six people max,but if you had 7 I doubt they would hassle you
There is a swimming area where you cannot go fishing. But there is an area by the dock where a friend told me about.β΅
I don't think you can without the host approval.
I have seen people pull out a small mouth bass and maybe a catfish, but primarily the fishing is rainbow trout. Not a lot of vegetation growing near the shoreline mostly rock and sand.
Absolutely. Pinecrest is the place to fish for rainbow trout.
If your camping check in time is still 2pm. The day you leave check out time is 11am. Have fun and enjoy your time there.
They did not check my license i just gave my name
Yes. The road is called Dump Road.
We used the dump station last year just outside the campground which worked great only issue do not know where to fill up with water on way in
The campground is closed and frozen over right now. You should plan to book 6 months ahead of the day you want to camp, same with any state campground as well.
Pinecrest (campground and lake) are closed. the whole forest and all rec areas are closed
So there's no water by the dump station...
6 or more dose not seen to be an issue however number of tents or excessive vehicles are .
I've checked in earlier last month around 11:30 they checked the computer to see if it was clear they let me right in. If everything is paid before I dont see it a problem going to the site.
We had one 2 weeks ago but not sure about now with the fire risk being high I would call pincrest
Try calling recreation.gov.
No
Here's an example. It looks like all the sites in B loop show "no campfire allowed". https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campsites/65547
Reservations needed through the summer months...none after Labor Day
If it's true jeremy i think it will be open until january π€·π»ββοΈ
Yes there are rental cabins near the lake
YES. ALTHOUGH THE TERRAIN ON THE TRAIL IS VERY DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE ON A BIKE, DONT LET NO ONE TELL YOU THAT BIKING ON THE TRAIL IS NOT ALLOWED. THERE IS """NO""" SIGN THAT STATES THAT; THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE BEACH, THATS IT!!!
No power some bathrooms have 2 plugs
Camping is $26 a night. Best to reserve campsites 6 months in advance, the place fills up fast during the summer months.
There might be a few, however the campground roads are narrow and have tight turns for such a trailer. Definitely check things out first.
A is the quietest during the summer months. The noise gets a bit louder the closer to the lake you get. All depends on the environment you want. Always packed, always a great place to stay.
Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 11am.
Not sure , about $6 a bundle.
Elmer or Wilbur, they call the name out at because as legend says it was a little boy who wandered off as a child a d was never seen or heard from again. So now late at night you can hear the voices at night calling his name.
The campgrounds are closed for the winter. Not sure about the draining of the lake. I used to rd camp there late September. 24 hour camping for 7 days. Water only. No other hookups.
D and E loop. No camping on the lake as it is day use only.
All fireworks are illegal in the county. The group campground is called Pioneer Trail campground, or you would need to reserve 10 spots at Pinecrest Campground, and good luck with that one. Showers are the same for last 15 yrs. $5 for 12 minutes, located near the store.
Fill a bucket at any hose bib.
For the campground absolutely. Typically you won't get in unless you book 6 months to the day when they start taking reservations.
Sure
They have shower but you have to pay and you'll need quarters. Not sure but it think $5 for 5 mins.
D & E loop you can see this on the campsite map.
It's more like who isn't Elmer. π
Not open from about October to May for the lake recreation and camping. The exact dates I'm not sure.
Of course there's tent sites. It's the friken best!
2 pm
Possible scattered smoke, if anything, but nothing to be alarmed about. ENJOY!
