No one checks. I've never heard of any staff saying anything. Even if there are 10 people. It's more of 2 car limit or more than 3 tents that they look for

Every campsite I'm looking at now says "no campfires allowed" on recreation.gov. Are camp fires really not allowed at this campground? Other campgrounds don't have that option greyed out.
