Decent KOA in Reno area. Clean, well-kept grounds and facilities. Not sure why we got a back-in space at the northeast end, clustered around big groups when we could have fit into a pull through with grass and shade, especially since it wasn't full. One less star due to limited hours of restroom/showers. 10 minutes walking to Boomtown Casino.

I was very disappointed with this particular KOA management. My husband and I had an early start this morning and had been driving our 5th wheel for nearly 10 hours. I had made online reservation for their last spot. We arrived ready for a nice break and a dip in the pool. The staff inside was very nice. But when the found our we had 2 air-conditioners they had to call their manager for permission to let us stay in a 30 amp spot. I told the staff that we would promise not to run either of our air-conditioners because this was the only opening I had found between there and Sacramento. The manager denied our reservation. He was afraid that if we ran our air-conditioners that it would cause a fire in our 5th wheel. I again promised we would not run the AC. Honestly we have no desire to start a fire in our 5th. He flat out refused. The staff felt bad but there was nothing they could do. We have stayed at several KOA's and have always been treated very good but this time we were turned out on the street with no place to go and several more hours before we could get home. Thank you for nothing Reno KOA management. π

This does not have the feel of a KOA. It does not have the fun family atmosphere that you get at other KOA's. You don't get an escort to your site (and they don't even have the pointy roof building!). The biggest frustration is that they do not provide what their documents state they have. The showers and bathrooms are only open from 8am until 7pm, which was very annoying. Their website states that there is a shuttle to the main hotel, but that does not exist. The back-in sites have no shade or grass. They are just parking lot style spots. It looked like the pull-through sites were better in that regard. On the plus side, there was a nice view of the river. There was a small playground and a pool/hot-tub.

Just a short distance off I 80 which makes it a perfect location for the traveler. The staff here is probably the friendliest, most accommodating and helpful that Iβve come across at any RV park. Park is very well-maintained and the sites are reasonably spaced. Itβs just a short hop up to Boomtown casino and restaurants.

8:00 andif you call ahead then you can set everything up and get there whenever. Dogs and cats are both ok.
Not sure there's ANY RV Parks in Reno/Sparks that allow tent camping. But there IS BLM land in Sun Valley off 395. Hope this helps!
Yes. You get a passcode to enter the shower after they close. If you pay for a space overnite 24 hr. showers.
KOA is great....casino not, majority only penny machines , YUCK
Yes.
The prices do not fluctuate during the year. Prices have already been adjusted for 2020 and what you find now should be good through the end of the year. I don't work at KOA but we are currently staying long term here
Yes. The campground is asphalt with a strip of grass and a tree in the space.
Probably gonna have to call regarding reservations.
Only have 30 amp.... Try Sparks marina really nice park.
Have seen older ones, but I'd call first. Been staying there for 5 years.
If you are in a motorhome. And it sounds like you are , make sure you are assigned a site where the sewer connection is not up hill from your drain. Most of the sites are not set up to accomodate motorhomes. On a trailer, the sewer is higher, and the trailer does not lower down on airbags. So the sewer on a motorhome sets lower as a rule.
There's a charge to park ANY rv at KOA; they're an "RV Park", it's business. Up the hill, in Boomtown's "18-wheeler/semi-truck parking" section, you can park your rv for approximately 36 hours, at no charge and without being harassed by Security, as long as you are NOT "camping", which they define as "spending more than 1/2 hour per 24 hour period." But if they (Security) see you inside, they WILL come and inform you there's NO CAMPING ALLOWED, in that area. You can tell them you're staying at the hotel, but you run the risk of them checking with the Front Desk. Hope this helps, at least a LITTLE bit.
There are no cabins at this koa
