Clean rooms, very friendly staff. I absolutely loved staying here. My family and I will definitely go back very soon.

Stayed in a 2 queen bed cabin over a 4th of July holiday weekend. Cabins are decent and generally had everything you need for a wilderness stay. Yes, there are things that could be improved both in the property or the cabin, could be renovated better and the floor could have used a real mopping before we arrived, but if these are your complaints, then maybe a wilderness stay is not really what you u are looking for. Never met or talked to a single person that worked there during my 3 night stay so was glad I didn't really need anything. Previous reviews about absentee management seemed totally true to me. My main gripe about Pinecrest Chalet was the cost for what you get. I wouldn't have minded the dirty floors in the cabin, the non-existent staff, the cleaning robot left in the pool, the questions I had about whether my gas fireplace should have been working or the rickety old kids play structures IF I wasn't paying so much for a nightly rate. I would expect all these things to be better for how much they charge. Hopefully they can match the amenities/service to the price one way of the other. Otherwise, not sure I would stay there again.

Stayed in a townhouse. Great location and pretty comfortable. Be aware, no AT&T signal there. Verizon works. Wifi is rate limited and extremely slow, like 1990’s dialup slow. Kitchen knives are all dangerously blunt. Hope the management will get them sharpened. Kitchen does not have common utensils, and what it does have is limited. If you expect to cook anything significant, bring your own utensils etc. The place made my allergies flare horribly. I am not sure why. Probably just dust and maybe the comforter. Staff was super kind and helpful. Overall given the location and general layout I was happy and will stay there again.

Overpriced for the quality and cleanness of the rooms and you get mice staying with you in your room as a bonus!! Could hardly sleep at night because mice were actually walking all around the room in my bags and boxes so I had to put my bags outside the chalet in the middle of the night. I found Mice droppings next morning on the kitchen counter and in the bathroom next to my toothbrush!! Also the WiFi did not work at all. I do not recommend this place. I have stayed in much better places for this price.

It's about a mile to the lake. Walking is possible not very safe. River runs through the property. Not much water though. Cheers
You have to have reservations I would check with the Stanislaus national Forest Park rangers. If you Google Pinecrest ranger station or strawberry ranger station off of highway 108 you will get the correct ranger station to call in order to get the availability details. Have a great time it's the best place in the world
No you don't have to be a UCB alum. Anyone can book and stay here.
Late on answer but there are about 10 RV sites and 5 are full hookups.
