The Bison are roaming all year through there
They are free range and go where they want to.
There is no "release" they free roam. This means that there is a chance you could wake up to them in your site. That happened to me each time I have been there.
They are free roaming, and you want to give them right of way.
Never, they are not captured. They ARE somewhat confined within the boundary of the park by cattle guards.
