I went to the front office to find out more about the several entries on to the Brazos River. The road under the bridge has washed out, which I would have to hire a wrecker to pull me out. I went to find out what the process was to get it fixed. TX Dot, in Weatherford was contracted to repair the bridge. But Steven here in Mineral Wells,TXDOT, has been asked to help me resolve this issue. I await his response after talking with the Weatherford Office.

We absolutely love this park. The trails are very diverse and always well kept. One of the many reasons we chose Mineral Wells to purchase our first home! The staff is always super friendly and extremely helpful- Our reptile rescue Living Wild Outside treats domestics and wildlife. We got a call from the local animal shelter about a vulture. Because I am a subpermitee under Blackland Prairie Raptor Center it was legal to release into our care. We desocialized it, trained it for climbing and gliding, and then released at the spillway in the state park (with their permission) to acclimate into the local group of vultures that currently live there to be taught their ways. This was an awesome happy ending and Im super grateful to the rangers and nature interpreter for all of their help. You guys are rockstars!!

One of our favorite tx state parks. Conveniently located near anything you could need, it offers RV hook ups, primitive camping and screened shelters (these just are screened concrete slabs with electricity not actual cabins ) the swimming area is great with a beach front area , paddle boat rentals, fishing and pretty views . There's a climbing area, horse trails and truly something for everyone. We go for an overnight or sometimes just go for the day .

I love this park. Fishing and hiking are what I come here for. in winter months I always stop at 32.763024, -97.836904 for fire wood they always have some and it is priced really good. Walmart is just down the street if you need anything and the slots are cooler than the park in the summer so it si a nice place to relax when hot. If you want to see more about the trip look up Chasing Campfires on facebook.
