No fishing license is required in a Tx state park IF you are fishing from the river bank or a pier. That's state park property. If you are in a boat, canoe, kayak, etc., on Tx state rivers - the Blanco, for instance- you must have a license. State park land is one thing, state rivers are another.

You do not need a fishing license to fish in the boundaries of any Texas State Park. That is why I buy a Parks Pass each year rather than a fishing license. It will pay for itsrlf.

TPWD stocks the river with trout in the winter. You do not need a license to fish from shore within the park.
