What a great little park! Don't expect a large flashy state park with all the amenities. It is very small. I was there in the spring on a weekday and had the whole place to myself. If you like birding I would definitely go in the spring ... You won't be disappointed. It took me 10 minutes to just leave the parking area - hahaha. There was a big group of Turkey Vultures on the roof of the picnic shelter & I've never seen so many Yellow Warblers. The hiking trail is a little over a mile loop - but I stop & look a lot so took me awhile. The trail is groomed but there where several trees across the trail that I had to go over or under ... But hey that's part of the adventure!!! Campground was small but clean - will be back to camp!

We have gone there a few times and really like it. Couple hours from home. Great little camp ground and we will be going back here again. The worst part of it is they do not have ice or wood we had to go 15-20 minutes to get the wood (who camps with out wood) and or ice. We also had to launch and pull the boat out eveytime. Sunsets are phenomenal!

This is a smaller State Park that needs a little TLC. The signage is old, faded, and sometimes missing. There are some nice walking trails, but they don't cover much distance. There are 19 camp sites, 5 or 6 of which are electric. The weekend we were there, there were several empty sites, and it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed two beautiful sunsets there and the site we were in (15E) was great for star gazing. It's a nice place to camp, but doesn't offer much in the way of recreational activities (didn't even see a playground for children).

This is a little baby State Park. Known for its fishing, this is the primary reason to come here. It's quiet, not very busy and only has 20 camp sites and a very nice group picnic shelter - surprising for a SP of this size. If you're mosquito candy like I am, bring a screen tent or be prepared to be assaulted faster than a DQ on a steamy hot MN summer night.

we must have got lucky, went last month and restroom was clean and park was in good shape. Pavilion was filled with snakes though, assuming that no one uses it.
