Stayed here overnight on our way from Utah to Texas. The lake was very sad to look at- we could not believe how low it was. The bathrooms were clean. The sites were spacious with a good amount of trees for shade. A good spot for an overnight stay, but can’t recommend it for boating or fishing.

We camped at Brushy Point campground, site 78 with a view of the shrinking lake (drought). We tent camp and the site was covered with large gravel. Make sure you bring a tarp to protect your tent floor. Brushy is a reservation only campground. So plan accordingly. There is a dumpster and potable water at the entrance. You can get ice at the park visitor center Chama, NM had a grocery and fuel but is 14 miles from the park. This is a very quiet place to relax, with lots of birds to watch.

It Is ok, the lake is reallllly low. Sites are so so, we have been here for 5 days and the bath house has yet to be cleaned. This last weekend was labor day so the park was full. Hopefully they will clean the bath house today after everyone has left the park. Nice trees around the camping area. Sites #53 table is under the tree shade all day long, #54 pull thru table and sitting area under trees all day shade, these are our favorites. We are in #57 it is ok but around 3pm we get the sun and heat on our site even using our awning, the RV sets easy to west.

Breathtaking mountain views, beautiful, peaceful environment, so much to see, and explore! The air is so clean, and crisp, and so is the lake once you get over the swishy mud feeling. Very therapeutic, and the wildlife is abundant! The cliffs, and the river are also amazing. I love this place! No TMobile cell service. My Sprint hotspot worked, but very laggy, and connected through roaming. Streaming, and uploading very slow, and glitchy, but I was able to check on important things online during my stay.

Not usually, haven't had the chance to check water level . if you decide to go . Enjoy please be cautious on rattlesnakes
You have to buy at Ace Hardware in Chama. None at the Visitors Center.
The water level is so low also extremely windy . what's that like in a kayak ? My dogs and I waded in the deserted lake may 11. pretty muddy too
Yeah I brought my puppy dog along with me, just us two. We camped at Ridge Rock Campground for a night and no one else showed up the entire time. So he was as free to roam as I was. If your dog is well trained, listens and responds to you, I say no leash is no problem. My pup only listens as long as he's not chasing a squirrel or approaching another dog, he's also really friendly and has a calm demeanor. Lucky for us we didn't have to worry about bothering anyone else! Hope this helps.
My cell phone was connected while at the lake. The drive up it came and went.
It's heartbreaking how low the lake is. One would think being a state park, attention to lake levels would be a priority
Don't think any of the campsites have electricity but most shud have views of the lake
Yup, two boat ramps open on south side near the dam.
Primitive sites are first come first served, for now no camping is allowed at State parks
It is, if your down by the reeds at the north end of the lake,so take a can of OFF and you will be just fine! If you decide to go down to the river by Amanda's store ,definitely take bug spray!!
I am not the one to answer that question due to the fact that I have only visited the sight once and it was almost totally dry. My visit was a little over a year ago.
No
