Great campgrounds. Big spaces, lots of grass and shade, everything was very clean. But the things I was most impressed with was the camp store and the friendliness of the staff. The store was the most eco responsible camp store Iβve ever seen, from paper straws, to bowls and plates made out of recycled materials, to the recyclable non foam igloo coolers. Even had locally courted farm raised meat and eggs in the cooler for sale to the public at super reasonable prices. Well done!

I stayed in campground B which is great because it's close to several trail heads and cost less. Water does not taste great, but the pit toilets were very clean and practically no smell, even in 85 degree heat. The river was very high as you can see. This was a nice experience because it was not busy. It would be very tight on a busy summer weekend though. I did shower in campground A. They were very clean and they also have a great camp store.
R (Just some random chic)
We went on a Saturday in April that was pretty chilly but had a really good time. There were other people there but it wasn't too busy. We took a trail that was a little more difficult. You go down steep inclines and then it takes you along the river and then you go back up any steeper incline were at some spots you have to climb a small ladder at 90Β° angle or grab onto tree roots to help pull you up the incline because it's so steep. The trail itself was maybe only 18 in wide at some spots and a little bit muddy and sketchy. If you're not very athletic or get winded easily, I would not recommend that trail. Probably if you are afraid of heights that might not be the one for you either. I was definitely winded multiple times and had to stop and pause. But it was worth it and I want to go back when the weather is a little warmer. We would also like to go down there to camp and canoe at the canoe rental. There is also a ropes course and putt-putt at the spot we stopped at.

We had a lovely stay in the Preferred Cabin here. Excellent accommodations; 2 bedrooms; linens, fully stocked kitchen (minus food); fireplace & TV in a beautiful setting right on the Mohican river. Great hiking place! Can't wait to return when we can canoe with the grandkids! π

I found it. 18+ campsite. 21+ cabins.
Yes, we did exactly that. A couple of the cabins at Mohican State Park are dog friendly but be sure to make reservations for the dog cabin in advance and make sure they've got all their shots.
Yes and the park officials are very helpful
When will pools open at Mohican campground
Porta potties everywhere
It is Nov first week Oct through the 6 is there street fair
No, but a nice camp store provides many camping items, including fishing poles and waterproof belt envelopes to safely store cell phones when tubing and canoing.
Yes, on dogs allowed in camp sites as long as immunization records are provided if asked, and owners are courteous enough to clean up after them. No one likes a mouthy dog, but well behaved ones are always welcomed. We always bring our two Shih Tzus.
Griffin Trail, length of about 21 miles, if you go with other people your sure to have funny moments
Yes, for a fee they will return you and canoes or kayak
The zipline is outside of the state park a not associated with them at all. Google "Tree Frog Canopy Tours". A private company.
Unfortunately I've never heard of any where at mohican that is free.
Now, winter camping is Nov1 - March 31 but you can book year round
Previous answer was a good idea but I would also try contacting Bernie at the camp store. She is awesome! Always nice and helpful and at the very least point you in right direction.
Yes its a great place They have several camping places Call in advance
Just campers:) but loudnville does have a public pool .
They are looking to hire lifeguards, so it seems like they plan to open it this year.
Ohio State Park rates are usually between $24 to $28 a night. If you have a golden buckeye card it's half price Monday through Thursday

Oh yes.
I know there is large equestrian area on 97 not far from Rt 3... but I'm not a rider myself, so don't know about the horse trails...
Anywhere between 70 and 150 I just asked yesterday.
About a mile
Lots of skunks near the tent camp sites, but they don't mind humans!
Yes
Yes, they have backcountry camping but I believe you have register and they'll specify the exact areas you can and can't do this.
No I dont believe so
Ohioreserve.com need to pick campsite by the bridge I believe its campsite B
Near the covered bridge. Lots of river access on the Little Falls(yellow) trail.
Yes, there are alongside the river. Numerous areas or even standing in the river.
Most of the paths I have walked would be difficult for wheel chairs. There is a place called fowler's woods and the trail is a wooden board walk
100 bucks
Yes but if I am not mistaken you are required insurance and liscence.
Reception sketchy at best, Some carriers work a little better than others I have Sprint; worked sometimes and not other times, Noticed some folks heading to higher ground; I didn't need to use my phone bad enough to hike it
Suggest Lake Hope for backoacking trail.
I don't live near. That is a beautiful park color or not.
As far as the river through the campground, it can get shallow and require portage. We tubed from the upper campground to the main campground and had to walk our tubes several times. The Mohican river just outside the campground is plenty deep.
Yes they do. Was just down there today
They don't have off-grid free camping at Mohican
Not sure,I know campers can have guests in that can use it. They may allow it but id call to make sure.
Not sure other then Google it. Sorry!
Yes a great place to park is the covered bridge area. There's plenty of hiking trails out from that area
Not free, some are walk up and rent and others are by reservations.
There are multiple launch points. Yes you can bring your own inflatable tube.
Every place that has canoes, kayaks, rafts, or tubes will have their own life jackets.
Yes
You can get with people local and they will bring them up to the park for guided rides
You can find all pricing online and it is definitely worth the money
No entrance fee. It is free, also Parking is free.
If you Google mohican state park its gives you the address of the main area where you can park there
$25 for primitive tent camping and $35 for site with electric. Per night
No , i bet its just amazing given you've got the proper weather gear!
The water wasn't deep enough in August for our kakays. The river is best suited for tubing.
Thank you very much for your help!
Pack means a hike into sites. Park mean access to your vehicle.
I do not know the answer to that question I don't live in Loudonville we just go down to the state park and camp
No. Its a campground. Reservations need to be made during the summer but off season you can get in easy.
Download an uber app...or get some comfortable water shoes that are durable for the walk back.
Yes!
You can park them in the overflow lot in by the entrance and go from there. Not sure but doubt they would care if you started your trail ride from there. Call them
First come, first served, none reservable. You must extend your stay by 1pm each day to keep your site.
Disabled American Veterans stay free with proof @ national parks and ohio state parks.
The cost of what? Camping? Cabins? It's all on their website. Google Mohican State Park.
6 months in advance. Ya gotta plan wayyy in advance.
That's a broad question. Depends on if your staying at the lodge or camping. Call them.
They have a very nice area to tent camp that is in the woods but has nice clearings with grass. Not really 'wilderness' as such but still cool. And i know there are some trails for hiking as well as biking, but not very familiar with them and not sure how many there are.
No drones in State Parks
You can drink within the confines of your camping unit. Public "display" of alcohol is prohibited.
Thank you all for your answers? Do you know by chance what the nightly cost is?
I was just there last weekend. Some have grills, others don't. Once there inquire at the gate. In case none available, best bet, bring your own or go to a picnic area.
Campsites accommodate a tent or tents with combined floor space under 200 square feet, or a camper and a tent.
About $110.00 to $170.00 per night but they have deals better then that at times from $88.00 per night and above
Mohican can handle 20 people easy. It's all about making reservations way in advance.
Several different companies to rent from so prices and length of trip varies. We went during the week so we did not have to reserve ahead.
According to reservations online, camper cabin is $55 a night for peak and non peak seasons
