As far as the river through the campground, it can get shallow and require portage. We tubed from the upper campground to the main campground and had to walk our tubes several times. The Mohican river just outside the campground is plenty deep.
Plenty deep enough for kayaking. We didn't bring our kayaks but hiked the trails along the river and there were kayakers and canoes in the river.
