I would recommend a life jacket at all times. There are shallow areas but it can be slippery and has sink holes here and there. It is beautiful
As long as they are w adults and/Or much older siblings or cousins or whatever to keep watch its an awesome place for kids. If they aren't a strong swimmer, is recommend depending on age either floated on the arm or a pool noodle or raft. The park is a wonderful place for kids. The Damn for the river is always a popular spot. Keep a close eye on your kiddos and it'll be a great time.
We saw lots of families with little ones weekend of May 5.
I felt safe at the camp ground while camping. The majority of people there were families and kids of all ages. River was very calm and relaxing. Bring a floatie or there are noodles you can buy at the camp office. The park is directly off the main hwy through town but I never heard any noise. Rivers do have rocks with slippery moss so I recommend water shoes. Main swimming area is about 8' deep and there is another blocked off section that is more little kid friendly and much shallower water. You will have a great time and town is less than a mile from the park. So plenty of places to run and get food or shop.
Sure if you watch them carefully
Very family friendly
In the park it's safe. In the water it's about 4ft deep so for little ones life jackets is recommended.
Bring life jackets for them. Nutvthevroxk are slipper. The have little look for them but keep a close eye on them. The water is cool but not cold to the bone.
