It was nice when we were there, we stayed about 2 hours. As long as ur near the dunes it's great but if you get by the picnic tables then bring bug spray

August is usually warm and dry in the day,monsoons can bring afternoon thunderstorms so be prepared for everything.
Warm and dry
Last Monday is was running, but quite shallow. I venture to guess it will be dry soon with all the 90 degree days. Bring water and bug spray. Oh and if you have time and want a cool side trip, go see Bishop Castle. It's really something.
