Yes the snow just adds to the fun. Also regular sleds work when there is snow.

Most definitely. The 2nd time I visited the Dunes there was 6-inches of snow covered with blowing sand. It was quite a site as was the experience.

In the winter, the creek you have to cross is frozen enough that you can mostly avoid getting you feet wet.
I had a blast in the snow. The park was shut down but still open when I went so I didn't even have to pay the entry fee! Not sure if it closed due to the snow or our inept government...
If i lived close by, or had hotel arrangements in the area, that would be a great time to go. Or if you we're into cold weather camping. It would be really nice.
