Yes, you can. We just did this past weekend, openly. They never said a thing at Ft Custer. This was not our first time there nor was it the first time openly bringing our own wood. (Now we are from Kalamazoo, so just one city over...)

No. The DNR doesn't want wood traveling across the state, and you cannot bring it into state parks. A bundle is 6-dollars, and is good for one night's fire.

Check the Michigan State Park website for do's and don'ts. Generally the rule is local wood only to avoid bringing in diseases and pests.
