One of my favorite places, you can stay here for a week and never run out of things to do. Lots of trails to bike from easy to difficult, two track roads, rivers to kayak, warm clean lake to swim and Paddle Board in. Several rustic campgrounds with lots of space between sites, and one modern campground with 80 sites.

I mountain bike at Rifle river. Northern section is more challenging but only really technical in one or two spots. Southern loop is flat and fast. Problems with flooding this year. The flooding can be bypassed from the south by riding north of the bridge about a mile and a half and jumping on at the Spruce campground spur. From the north jump on the Spruce spur and ride the road to the swinging bridge. The flooding is not very extensive but it is not rideable.

Superb State Park and recreation area. You have to visit this park to appreciate the great outdoors.

Beautiful park with a great campground. Our site with the lake view was perfect. Night sky was magnificent. Too cold to swim yet so we will definitely be back. Looks like brand new asphalt for 2021.

There are both available
They have plenty of trails. They have a new trail map available for the campground.
Yes. It is located across from the Ranger Station.
The park is open all year. Check online for available sites, but it's very likely that some would be open. Not sure we've ever seen turkeys there.
Yes the beach area at Grousehaven lake would be the best spot.
If the DNR have the same rules as the last few years no probably not maybe further down outside of the park.
Last year when we went down in our own kayak there were three spots we ported our boats over or around the timber. It was actually fun and challenging. It is clear now in july 2018
Beautiful park. River appears clear. We have not kayak ed it but friends have. Take out is on Sage Lake Rd. If your thinking of that. Camping lakes are great. Clean water and warm.
Depends on when you come, but I'd make reservations. Most campgrounds are full.
Only grousehaven is available for winter stays. They don't plow to the other sites.
They don't really have a parking lot for that not with a camper.
What David said, when you call just tell them you need electric. The water was only a campsite away from us. Great campground!
there is a company that does rent the
There is camping, but I think you have to rent from a livery who puts in and out there.
They have something going on this weekend on Saturday from noon till two.Might want to check out their web page
I've seen them okay with it when the circumstances are for traveling purposes instead of fun
Follow Michigan DNR regulations. It has to come from a local area. You are also welcome to cut up any deadfall in the park. And the vast scenic roads and trails provide an ample supply.
No you can't
Yes benches at the full-service Campground but not at the primitive campsites
No, the state prohibits transporting wood to any State Park, unless bought at the park, or local approved vendor. You can check with the park when you check in where those are. Besides, its good practice not to. Even if you think your wood is bug free, you could be bringing in invasive species that could harm the local ecosystem. Local firewood is always easy to find, and not expensive. And you help the local economy.
Dogs are allowed at all state parks, but on a leash unless otherwise posted. (Dog friendly beachs)
Yes .its the best way if you have it.bring a tarp in case it rains
There are plenty of space in the rustic campground and i have never had a problem with sure but it is a busy at the end of July. My brother made my reservation so i do not know the cost
