Wondering if there is still a place in the area to rent a kayak? Did the river last year, many downed trees and limbs in the way. Wondering if anyone knows if it's been cleaned up?

Last year when we went down in our own kayak there were three spots we ported our boats over or around the timber. It was actually fun and challenging. It is clear now in july 2018

Rollway Resort offers watercraft rental for the lakes at the recreation area. Also rentals for you to use if you wish to go on the river, but you would have to have your own shuttle. Ya they are still renting them there's a trailer when you first get into the park. the name is Rollaways canoes

The river has probably not been cleaned up. The DNR years ago stopped allowing people to clear out the river when trees fell into them. The last guy allowed to do this sold the kayak and cone rental on Lupton. Not sure of they are still renting kayaks in the park this year.

I ran into the same problem last Sept. The gas station across the street rented kayaks but I would call first. There is also a guy a couple houses east of the gas station that sold red oak firewood at a great cost AND he delivered it all to our camp site back in the Spruce area. Look for his sign.
