Stayed the night in an RV here a week or so ago. Lots of people there, but that's OK. Spot was nice, all the hook ups worked perfect. Our neighbors played a long, drawn out, aggressive Cornhole game in to the wee hours of the morning. Lol. When we peeked outside, they straight up had the boards lit up with LED lights. Beautiful lake, nice terrain. Would Def recommend it

It is a beautiful park. The trails are well maintained. There are lots of trails to chhose from. I like the trail most which is on NorthEast side of lake. It's more than 2 miles long, but we never get bored of the scenary and most of the times we can stay on the side of the lake. Mostly I have been there in the morning, it's so peaceful and lively with different birds singing and chirping. The lake is also clean and big. Beach and playgrounds are not that big but are clean. The restroom seem to be repaired recently and is decent. Attaching some of the beautiful snaps of the park.

Very well kept! Beautiful rustic amenity cabins as well as uppercase cabins. Beautiful water. Ada fishing areas as well as Ada cabin.

Stayed in one of the modern cabins over a weekend. Probably the best cabin experience I have had. Clean, large, and easy to book. The park is well run with plenty of activities and easy shore fishing. Will be back!!!!

Yes, our lodge would be a perfect setting! More info here on reservations: https://www.iowadnr.gov/Places-to-Go/State-Parks/Make-a-Reservation/Day-Use-Lodges#13469138-se-iowa-lodges
I never noticed any hog confinement smell. Smelled a lot of beacon cooking in the mornings though.
No but there is a dollar general on the way to the lake
There are both camping and modern cabins to rent. Some pictures can be found on the reservation web site. I have stayed in one of the modern cabins. They are very nice. Two rooms with queen beds, porch, large living area, nice bathrooms,, and kitchen area. You can email the park ranger for more descriptions. I have not stayed in the camping cabins.
Yes
The beach was open last month but they said there was bacteria in the water. However we swam anyway because everyone else was and we were all okay.
They typically have some wood to buy, weekends are busy and they may run out.
There are security lights and parking lot lights but also areas you could get away from them.
In camping areas that have no electric service to run your lights and air.
Camping cabins don't have indoor toilets. The Family cabins do and they are bigger and nicer.
There used to be one by the park entrance but last I knew they closed. So your alternatives now are the limited gas station at Brighton or driving to Washington's HyVee.
Yes, the boat rentals opened Memorial Day weekend. Rentals are available Friday - Sunday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. with last boats going out at 6 p.m. We have canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards, and row boats. They rent by the hour and are available on a first come, first served basis. Thanks!
Generator use on non-electric sites is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. A smaller quiet generator can be used during the day as long as it does not disturb others. All generators, regardless of size, must be shut off at 10:30 p.m. when quiet hours are in place.
Hi, Tammy! Give us a call please!
I don't think there are any signs to the contrary, but it would probably need to be on a leash per normal state park regs.
Ya.. you can find so many electricity ports there..!!
Yes. Cabin 11 is the only no pet cabin.
Also a gas station that sells bail only a few mile away in Brighton.
No trail to town but alot of open space and trail in the park.
