Air train it's free to use
The shuttle is really the air train you pick up at the Jamaica train station of the Long Island Rail Road. Its first stop is the car rental section of JFK airport. The cost is between 2 and 4 dollars one way. I am not certain of the cost but you could Google the web site for the information. I believe it makes a circle loop around JFK before going back to the LIRR Jamaica station.
