They're meticulous in who is going to rescue an new pet and that's a great thing. This cute boy just rescued me. Hi Houdini, welcome to the Rivera family!!!

I cannot recommend this place enough. The fur babies are well taken care of and these people at ASPCA are amazing. We got out fur baby Jack here a number of years ago and they were great. I only went here this time to donate towels but the team was equally as wonderful to work with. Highly recommend them for adoption and for donations!

I visited the place about 3 weeks ago to see if they would take in a stray kitten that we found in our neighborhood. I got to the gate and it was locked, checked their hours on google and on their gate and it said they were open. I tried calling twice and they never answered. Then I found out they stopped taking in cats at all. The entire New Port Richey area is overrun by stray/wild house cats. Its a problem for our ecosystem and other animals. Stray cats are responsible for making over 60 species go extinct and of course most of them are not neutered. Im sure the ASPCA knows this, but they don't care. No other shelters in the area take cats and if they do, they just put them down. This location has been taken over by greedy people who dont even use the money they get as donations for the animals. Don't bring animals here and don't donate any money.

I was very impressed. I went there probably about 15 years ago and the place smelled of a heavy urine smell mixed with some nasty floor cleaner. I have not been back since. I seen their sign on Saturday saying they had open adoption today. So I went in and I was very impressed from especially from the last e To find my forever furry friend. just too bad I couldn't find one there, in which is a good thing because they were not overcrowded. I recommend that you go there first to see if you can find your forever furry friend.

I have been here with my son to adopt up a new kitten after I just got out of a bad marriage. When we got there, the 1st kitten he choose, I noticed she was sick & asked them about it & they just ignored me. I asked them who their vet was & I just took her straight to the vet. I was also concerned about my older cat I had at home. She had a virus & her eye was also cloudy from the virus. They charged me $150.00. I tried to call them several times & all I got was their answering machine. I don't want to say I wouldn't get another pet from the them, but I would make sure the pet isn't sick or if they are, call them out on it.
What kind of dog is she? Do you have any photos? Carol Waggoner
That has never been my experience there. They have always shown nothing but kindness and respect. The only time, if memory serves, that they didn't take a cat, was then there kennel was full. (Of Cats) They sometimes can not accomodate the entirety of Pasco Counties, ever growing, homeless pet issues.
Yes, they do. They wait 1 wk until processing animal into system.
Hi, we welcome young volunteers, and accept volunteers age 16 and older with parental permission. We have a regular volunteer orientation that lasts 2-3 hours where we teach proper safety and handling of animals in our care, including hands on work with the animals. Once you have attended orientation, we welcome volunteers anytime, and try to work on getting folks into a regular schedule to fill in gaps where we need volunteers the most. We have lots and lots of jobs for volunteers, including playing with.grooming, and walking dogs, petting and brushing cats, attending to customers that would like to meet a dog or cat for potential adoption, gardening and landscaping, and office work. If you are interested please come fill out an application at the shelter, thanks!
I paid $200. But, I would be careful because my son picked a sick kitten & they knew it. I took her to the vet, who they said was the vet, and they weren't. She had an upper respiratory infection. I paid another $100. And she still has an eye ulcer. Just BE CAREFUL!!! UPDATE- In looking at her papers, I don't think she's even been vaccinated. UPDATE: There's no excuse for their behavior & this was done in August 2018. Nor did they answer any of my calls.
Call them, or visit them, they're very nice people, my daughter got two long hair kittens there and they are awesome. They are open six days, closed on Monday s
They should if they have room
Paws if you give them the income papers and things they will do it for I think it's 15 or $20 for a dog or 10 or 15 for a cat and you'll go to one of the Vets they have on their thing to have it done so contact paws
Trying to look at adopted dogs
We work with owner surrenders and at the moment we have a waiting list for surrenders. We must get 5-10 phone calls per day regarding kittens and cats that are being fed or found outside. The best route is to google cat rescues near you and see if any of them can help out. Unfortunately this is a common problem.
Yes, as others have said, another good way if you want a specific breed, use an animal rescue service.
Hi, we don't post lost animals on our page; however if you report the lost animal to us and/or bring us a flyer, we keep them on our board so we know to contact you if your animal is turned in to us. Our volunteers also search known websites when a stray is brought to us, and we frequently are able to locate the owner and return the animal to them.
Hi, I am a volunteer with SPCA Suncoast. We do assist local residents with pet food when we have extra, which is most of the time thanks to the generosity of the community who donates food to us. We almost never turn people down who need some food for their animals. In addition, just down the street from us is The Volunteer Way, a local food bank, which also provides food assistance to pet owners. Hope this helps!
I have not heard of them giving away food but there's a place further away that does that my friend uses and I forget what it's called but I'll bet you Suncoast could tell you
SPCA if they're not full and they can take him I think there's also some cat rescues
I'm not sure about them but the humane society makes you be 18 are you going the family program and do it with your family younger so I guess you will have to call to find out the exact answer
They probably are full but I would ask them what they suggest you do there's got to be some place and I know humane society takes on there extras so I don't know
If you can't find homes try the SPCA there in no kill shelter
Sounds like his back leg is hurting and he doesn't want you to touch it. I'd bring it to a vet.
I would go to the Humane Society that would be the cheapest way and the most humane way because the vet will cost you
I dont believe so. They are no kill and accept dogs from Pasco County Animal Services
I'm not sure but you can at that Primate Sanctuary on Alternate 19 by Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs
I have a Ferrell Cat in the neighborhood that is in need of help. She had kittens under my manufactured home about a month ago and was under the impression that they were the neighbors cat because the girls kept coming over saying they were theirs. I went to feed them in my backyard this morning so they dont stave and found the mother has either been hit by a car or attacked by an amimal and has no use of her back legs. She does not look like she is in pain but my car is broke down and have no way to take care of her financially and her two kittens are by her side. I went to the ladys house this morning whom the girls told me they lived and she said the cat is an outside cat and also not hers. I need to know who to call to get this cat help?
You can also buy some “Neosporin” that comes in a tube at Walgreens for your local pharmacy. This is a topical antibiotic and is relatively cheap. If this dog’s wound does not get better in 2 to 3 days then you really need to take it to the vet. I was raised on a ranch and did all kinds of vet work on cattle dogs cats coyotes turtles chickens -you name it Lol
Is it a puppy. Do you know what kind it is. Thay charger a fee of taking them. But I may take it...
For a dog under 6 months it is $250 for 6 months and older it is $200
Hi Vickie. You can give us call. We are currently working off a waitlist. We require your pup to be up to date on vaccines and have a heartworm test within the last 6 months. Give us a call and we will go over the process with you. Thank you.
Hi Geri, We do have a trap you can borrow. Are you attempting to catch strays for trap, neuter, release?
Thank you for reaching out. We do not take stray cats, kittens. We are owner surrenders and currently have a waiting list.
We are open every Saturday from 12p-4p to meet any dog you would like to. You can also look on Petango.com and see all of our available dogs. Thank you.
Hi Skyler, If you go to Indeed you will see an ad for our Dog technician position. You can apply through there. Thank you!
I adopted my cat jiji from here and he was a surrender.
I would call them directly. You may have to leave a message but they are really good at returning calls. Hopefully they can take her or give you the appropriate information you need to move forward. Good luck.
Thank you for thinking of us. The best time is Saturday from 12p-4p.
Hi Ann. We do take donations. We are available this week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12p-4p. If the gate is closed there is a buzzer. Hit that and we will be out to let you in. Thank you.
We do not spay and neuter animals. We do not have a veterinarian on site. Try Pasco County Animal Services.
Hi Steve. Thank you for reaching out and offering donations. At the moment we have plenty of towels and sheets but we certainly appreciate you thinking of us. Thank you.
Francisco, please call the shelter so we can get more information from you to see how we can help. Thank you.
My understanding is its owner surrender only.. At this time.. However call and ask.. If not I can help with info on Tnr program in Pasco.. If you don't know what's involved with the trap neuter release.. Pm ME .. I'm Laura G on next door neighbor.. Or post your contact info and I'll share.. Traps are needed for this program
Hi Chris. Thank you for reaching out. We do not take strays. You might want to google rescues in your area and see if anyone can help. Thank you!
SPCA Suncoast does not. They do not have a veterinarian on staff. Check with Pasco County Animal Services or you can take to a veterinarian.
I'm not sure but most likely it's free food
Unfortunately we do not.
Yes, it is a no kill shelter.
7734 Congress ave in New port richey, fla
Please call the shelter to speak to someone for an explanation
You have to call and schedule an appointment on Wednesdays only to surrender any animals.
You would go to animal control first. Then check shelter's
You currently do need to make an appointment on their website. If you look at the dogs available you chose a 30 min appointment for that dog. They did let us see additional dogs once we were there but I believe it would depend on whether there was another appointment after you or not. Check out their website and it explains it all there and tells you about the adoptable dogs. Also, when we went the gate was closed and we had to open it ourselves to drive in. This happened because they arent open for walk in visitors currently.
Not at this time. Thank you.
Please contact Pasco County Animal Control @ (813) 929-1212
Call and ask if not paws in port richey
They have reduced adoption events sometimes. I'm pretty sure no shelters "give" dogs away. Especially under the situation of " help". If adoption fee is a problem, then a vet bill could be much worse.
Nothing is free you have fee's
I believe you can if not free at a discounted price
They dont take in surrenders anymore unless it os spayed or neutered and all of its shots
If they come to the facility and needs to be rehomed.
Call them or better to go in and talk and fill out papers
They do not keep good worker. They make you train people then fires you. Not nice to paid workers for helping out.
Hi, I am a volunteer for SPCA. We do accept owner surrenders of cats if we have room to take them, which is frequently the case as we adopt our animals out quickly. We require that the cats be FELV/FIV negative, and be up to date on vaccines (rabies and distemper). The cat must be spayed or neutered as well, and there is a $50 fee to surrender the animal. If the cat is not microchipped, we will provide microchipping prior to rehoming. If you have a cat you need to surrender, contact us at the shelter and we will try to help.
You can have a dog brought out for physical contact and meet and greet if you are interested in adopting an animal. Also, the SPCA accepts applications for volunteer workers who can work directly with time animals.
Hi, I am a volunteer with SPCA. We do not maintain a list of temporary fosters, however I believe that the county shelter (Pasco County Animal Services in LAnd O' Lakes) has an extensive foster program and could potentially use your help. Suncoast Animal League in Palm Harbor also has a foster program I believe.
Although they do not, to the best of my knowledge, pick up stray animals, the new management has been nothing but kind and considerate to me. Here is their website. You may be able to find more information here: http://spcasuncoast.org/
Here is the website which should help you confirm the info: http://spcasuncoast.org/
Don't let that stop you if your unable to pay. They will work with you I would hope
No
Hi, I am one of a great team of volunteers at SPCA Suncoast. We have a full staff of employees and volunteers who provide care for the animals. We are fortunate to have great volunteers (over 50 active volunteers at the moment) who have contributed over 4,500 hours of volunteer time so far in 2019 alone (I know because I run the volunteer tracking software). Our animals are better cared for than ever, and it's an enjoyable and rewarding place to work. Come check us out!
Best thing is to call them but I wouldn't say I take care of them cause is may be interpreted as ownership.
As long as they have all there shots they will be fine but if not then no we cant take them in
Pasco county animal services has a tnvr program. They will get fixed and rabbies shots for ten dollars. Also PAWS on 19 has a low cost clinic. The tnvr program the cats must be in a human trap for 10.00 and I am not certain of the pricing for PAWS clinic. Give these two places a call and see which you would like to use
No we do not its mostly pitbulls or the other bigger breeds
No we dont have a vet on site and we don't take in rabbits
Hi, I am a volunteer at SPCA Suncoast. The surrender fee for a dog is $50. The dog must be spayed/neutered, be heartworm negative, and be up to date on vaccines (Rabies and distemper). Owner should contact us and we will accept the dog subject to a behavioral evaluation to ensure it is adoptable. We take in owner surrenders whenever we have room, and we work hard to adopt out our dogs quickly so we have room to assist the community with rehoming pets who need it.
You can take them to the SPCA, if they are not to crowded. If they are, they can tell you where to take them.
You are a horrible advise giver robin salis and but the spca dont have a vet on site so your going to bring in the pet to another vet or to go to the spca and then the lady at the desk and so she can tell you what vet we go to
Not really it would be rare to see them at the shelter
Don't think so
U should listen to the other people. SPCA will help they are good people
Ask your loca vet they may refer u
Can a neighbor check for yu
Call your vet..I don't think they do that.. When my 14 year old pit bull had to cross the rainbow bridge it cost me around $300 for the euthanasia and to get the ashes
Call Animal control
There are mobile vet clinics.
I believe Brian is correct as for being full I really don't know I guess you would have to call them and ask them what's up and I don't know if you can really know who adopts them afterwards or not
Not at the spca your gonna have to have an animal hospital for that 😞
I adopted a small dog from them some years ago, but the small ones go very fast. You may have ti to visit the shelter every day to find one. Check the county shelter too, although small dogs get adopted out very quickly there too.
You can keep it just Google it I know people who had squirrels as a pet
They should notify you! Probably should call them anyway!
Their adoption fees are really reasonable.. specially seeing the pets are healthy, chipped and neutered. Amazing place..they really care about the animals.
They are no kill as far as I know. They have a very nice cat shelter section
Yes
I adopted a chiwawa...i dont volunteer
There are lots of areas in our area that look for lost pets are have found and put them out there one of them is Beacon Square neighborhood and they are very good about helping with lost dogs are finding dogs and putting them out there try downloading their site
I think 16 unless you do it with your family then they have a special thing for that
When we ask to be put on a list they say no
There's PetLuv in Brooksville. Very reasonable.
They have an entire separate cat building from the dog area. Somtimes they have adoption specials so best to call
If not call humane society of Pinellas. They so take exotics sometimes
12pm-5pm
Let it die on its own duh
It's a shelter so the type of animals just depends on what comes in. Their website has their prices
You need to contact the location directly for an answer to that kind of question.
Nice people I always give
No we don't do that.
Spca is probably full and they dont pick up
Pet Love in Brooksville does spaying of dogs and cats. I am not sure if Spca does it for the public....they do it for their adoptees, though.
Should be able to take him here or they will refer you elsrwhere if there is "no space"
